From this angle, you can see that when he jumps, their player's leg is in a different position. He goes to kick out at the ball and into the path of McGeehan's landing. He then gets straight up and doesn't protest. Nor do any of their own players or staff sat a few feet away from the "incident". They also both shook hands after and no more was said.

I reckon Sunderland fans have been writing in :D

Got to say, I had judged it to be a stupid challenge by Cam on another thread. However, having watched that I think it's worth an appeal. Still don't think his intentions are obvious either way, but I can certainly see the argument that it was accidental on that viewing.

I'd appeal, but he still looks guilty as sin to me.

I think he also pulls out of it once he makes contact. If he'd had the intention to hurt him, he would have followed through. Think the fact that he didn't hurt him is also evident in the reaction of everyone else in close proximity to them, including the man on the receiving end.

I thought that but I think he definitely knew he had made contact and after hearing the whistle, he was worried that the referee was going to react in the same way as he had earlier with Brown.

I don't know if you say the Gillingham booking or not, but its his standard reaction when he knows he's done wrong. Even his handball goal he complained a little. I've been thinking about this... there are other factors that suggest guilt. The angle he plants his foot and the pressure. If you accidentally stamp on someone, is it likely to you would squarely catch them flush, is it likely your foot would be flat as it landed to give more likelihood of catching them, and would you be ready to use that leg to leverage from if you weren't expecting it.

Having to think back a long way, but generally if you ever stood on something by accident, you weren't ready to push off again, and often you'd twist your ankle or certainly not have full balance. If you thought you were trying to avoid legs in a challenge, you would generally be less flat footed and plant the balls of your feet rather than whole foot.

That the step is short to land on him, that he catches him flush and is already pushing off to them do his little step and land.

Anyway, I very much doubt we'll appeal and we're now likely 3 players light for 2 of the hardest remaining fixtures.

I think had he fell over on impact he would get away with it. The fact he stayed on his feet and tried to sidetrack the ref intimates guilt for me.

What are people watching? Disgraceful behaviour from Mcgeehan, rightly to be punished. Hope he has apologised to his teammates. No place for it in the game, and at my club.

Amazing how everyone knows for certain one way or another. Interesting reflection of modern society.

I'm more bothered where it leaves the starting 11 when the inevitable happens and Mcgeehan is banned. Who steps into the three man midfield?

Imagine it'll be back to 4411 with Green or Hedges on wing and Bahre behind Woodrow. Not the worst team.

No intent for me. Had he intended to damage the opposition player he would have straightened his leg not allow it to buckle and take the weight off.

If he gets any sort of punishment for that I would take great interest in the FAs reasoning.

Maybe introduce Styles alongside Mowatt and Dougall and push Green up with Woodrow and Thiam. Bahre looks better off the bench.

You can tell by the defenders reaction how much weight is on his leg,he never flinches.Just gets up straight away.

Maybe, but just can't see it happening myself. He hasn't played any football for us yet so would be a massive gamble. Agree Bahre looks better off the bench but still think he'll start, with a slight change of formation. Find out on Saturday I guess. Although I would like to see us appeal the charge. At first I was sure it was intentional and now I'm 50/50 on second viewing.
