Not being funny but we are in danger of looking like hysterical nutcases or, more importantly, firing up the opposition with this bleating. Whatever the rights or wrongs of it, anyone who seriously thinks there is an FA / Sky conspiracy against us is plain wrong. You seriously think people are sat in FA Towers working out ways to get Sunderland promoted at our expense? Really? Yes it's frustrating, yes it's inconsistent but it's done and dusted. Banging on about it won't help anyone, imagine the Sunderland forum when they pick up on these threads. Blimey. Let's get behind them this week and see where that gets us.
For me this situation has underlined how wrong we were not get another forward in. If we had it would just be 442 with Mowatt and Dougall in the middle like it was at the start of the season when McGeehan couldn't get a kick.
Wonder if this type of conversation took place all those years ago re- Arsenal and we all know that outcome lol.. You've got to admit the FA bring a lot of the trouble on themselves due to a lack of fair play and inconsistencies ... No wonder we see it week in week out with the referees.. Seems to me one rule for one one rule for bigger clubs
‘ You seriously think people are sat in FA Towers working out ways to get Sunderland promoted at our expense? Really ?’ Yes
Sky.. FA. . Premier league . would love the likes of Leeds, Villa, Sheffield, and yes Sunderland in the top flight to name but a few.. all can attract bigger crowds and are more fashionable than your Bournmouths Burnleys, Brighton, Watford or Barnsleys of this world...
Think sky should run the rule over that challange on cavare v southend, the one that put him in the advertising hordings. Then ban cavare for 3 matches for looking at the perpetrater in a funny way!
It's all nonsense. I get the point but any one seriously buys into this they need to get out more. Sure they have a million and one better things to do they sit there working out our downfall at the expense of bigger teams. Sorry but that is ridiculous
Sunderland would add absolutely sod all marketability to the Premier League. The global audience doesn't know Sunderland from Brighton or Watford. It'd be like an English person saying I'm not watching Serie A until Hellas Verona are back in it.
In my mind, it's a bad decision. But it clearly is not an outrageous decision as there are different opinions and an element of doubt about it. Go on any other club's board and if they are talking about it, you'll struggle to find anyone who thinks it is the wrong decision. This bleating and talk of conspiracies is making us look a little bit ridiculous.
I’ve made this sort of argument in another thread. To be honest if Sunderland weren’t here it would be another club getting accused of being favourited. This isn’t a Barnsley exclusive thing either it happens with every club up and down the country. When bad things happen to Man City they accuse everybody of being Man Utd fans, Wednesday and United fans both accuse Radio Sheffield of being biased against their own teams it’s tribal nature.
Good shout. It's a pain and it's frustrating, but if we can crack on and make do without the mental repercussions for the squad as a whole will be incredible. To be honest, I'd be pretty keen to impress as a replacement the way it's gone on. We just need to take an attitude of 'We'll beat you however we like'.
Yes ......they have a picture of Bob Stokoe on the FA boardroom wall and Steve Cramm drops in for coffee every Thursday morning . Obviously they don't think about 'teams like Barnsley' all the time but when an opportunity arises to 'put us in our place ' they always seem to take it , it is very rare that the club appeals any decision because of previous history of rarely winning appeals
