Against an Accrington side who Sunderland struggled against just a few weeks ago at the Stadium Of Light. I didn't think we were as good as we have been recently, but nevertheless some of our football in the second half was very pleasing on the eye. A big thumbs up to Green, Bahre, Williams & Styles for their contributions. The move for our first goal, especially the pass from Woodrow & finish from Cavare, was class, even if the opening half display was a bit subdued. However, I thought the win was well deserved. Three more points and yet another clean sheet, despite us not being at our best. Keep up the good work, lads. You're doing us proud this season.
I agree, but can you tell me why I get more nervous and agitated when we’re 2-0 up than when the scores are level? I just don’t get it.
I wasn't my usual calm, chilled out self either today, old mate. My hissy fits were directed at the referee, though, as the likes of nezbfc & Jay will testify!
Lol, I did do a bit of shouting today, ( even girly shouts, sorry ladies) I’ll be much happier next Saturday with our minimum points total of 7 from the last 3 games.
We did the job, that's all that we can ask for at this stage of the season in my opinion. Big plus for me is the fact that we are consistently keeping clean sheets, which breeds confidence. Just been looking at the table, our +36 goal difference could prove to be absolutely crucial come the end of the campaign. Sunderland have + 29, Portsmouth + 22, Charlton + 17 and Doncaster + 15.
Professional performance, with more composure we could have had a sackful, but it was a fair scoreline overall. Given all that's happened in the past week too, it was nice to see contributions from those players brought in to the team today. I don't think we should underestimate how good a squad we do have, and whilst losing Moore, Brown and McGeehan isn't ideal, the coaching staff clearly believe and trust in our young lads. What a cameo from Styles.
