played ok yesterday and looked a threat , should we go with him or which of the others should start , Styles . Williams , Hedges ?
Someone yesterday thought he looks" too lightweight". He reminds me, though, of that 'will o'the wisp' player Martin Bullock - another tricky little blighter who made a right mug I recall of an England defender (whose name temporarily escapes me) . Great potential and, for me, even on the little we have seen of him, shows he will eventually make at the very least, Championship standard.
I wondered if he was taken off so early to see how the competition would get on. Good tactics by Stendel to give Green, Williams and Styles proper match time so he could make a decision for Tuesday (although I think Styles was also brought on because Mama was blowing after the absolute shift he put in)
I think we will start with the same 11 as started yesterday. Hard to see Green not starting after yesterday’s performance
Aye this "too lightweight" argument doesn't make any sense to me. Raheem Sterling seems to be doing ok. The legendary Barcelona team were described as being the smallest in Europe I seem to remember. He only becomes too lightweight if you start throwing high balls up to him.
Am i being a bit pessimistic or did greene look to be carrying a knock just before he was subbed.....hope am wrong as i thowt he looked good....needs to hold his position on the right a bit beta as he went ball hunting a bit..bt then toby scored from the space he left so.....COYR
To me after watching em both its gotta, be styles well impressed with composure he keeps the ball with is low style of gravity eager to have the ball but also plays the ball very well , green very quick yes but looses ball and fall over very easily which looses ball and gives opposition the ball and chanch of attract... Styles wins the place for me.
Yes, I think he did enough yesterday to get another start, very unlucky when he hit the post, although as some say he looks lightweight, he still seems to be difficult to knock off the ball and when he ran at them, they were having kittens.
He played well yesterday so no reason to change the starting XI. Hedges to come on from the bench once Green starts to tire.
V Southend (as a late sub) & yesterday, Jordan (we call him The Prof cos at 64 & 60 we must be down with the kids) was hammered many times - his pace & ability seem to be making him a target. He gets up & on with the game - it’s refreshing to see a player who doesn’t roll and roll (like Neymar & Snodgrass to name but a few). He’s going to be a star!
Thought Green played well yesterday particularly when we decided to give him the ball! which did take a while. If the other option is Hedges to start then Green gets the shirt. I can’t think of a single occasion that Hedges has had a good game when he’s started.
Saw Vicki (physio) giving him applying an ice pack whilst he was sat on bench, but assumed it was just precautionary as they didn’t seem to be making too much of it.
