hmmm not sure... they don't play great football but are organized, good from set pieces, and decent on the break.
I think you're a bit harsh there. Wind and conditions stunted us BOTH! teams don't go only 2 games unbeaten all season and scoring every game.. by being absolute toilet!!
you obviously do not know good deal about football by that comment, perhaps you should take up knitting.
I thought they did alright. Gooch and Grigg were poor. We needed subs on earlier, too many subpar performances from our players too.
I thought we were all over them first half, but I think based on the evidence of the second half it was obvious that whoever was kicking into the wind was at a severe disadvantage.
We played better than they did against the wind. For all their millions l thought they weren't all that.
Theyre nothing special but you can see why they dont get beat very often. Very organised ad you’d expect with the experience of Cattermole, Leadbitter, Power etc, theyre midfield got on top towards the end, probably aided by our lack of options to freshen it up. Grigg wasnt good but have you ever seen Pinnock play as poorly? Good job we had Lindsay. Overall I’d say im ok with a point, keeps it in our hands and keeps the unbeaten run going. That and we’ve just seen what we’re competing against and we now know we’re the superior side.
No idea how they are third in the league. They can't be that dog **** every game surely. Only one team deserved anything from that game and it wasn't them. Their keeper pulled off a really good early save. We hit the woodwork. We had a goal disallowed. They nearly scored an own goal from a back pass. The only decent chance they had was when Max Power was through. Considering the experience in that team and the wages they are on compared to our lads, I would rather be us than them.
Yeah I think it's fair to say they are underperforming when you consider some of the player's wages. McGeady was good in first half but he must be on a huge salary.
Is everyone forgetting the finger tip save round the post in the first half. That bugger was on its way in. So Sunderland had 3 or 4 really good opportunities. So did we. The result was fair imo
I'm pleased with the point, a win for you tonight would have been an almost fatal blow to our automatic chances but we are still right in the mix but a win for you on Friday really piles the pressure on us again. It's been confirmed we've lost Watmore for the season now so we are light in the striker dept. and are going to have to rely on grinding out narrow wins from here on in.
Let's be honest it'd be a travesty if the current top 3 don't go up. Good luck for the rest of the season (just not at our expense though!)
I thought the result was fair. Sunderland were what they are: functional and organised. I thought we played the ‘name’ rather than the 11 in front of us, for long periods, which was an unfortunate game to pick. Better result for us than them ultimately. Onwards to Donny.
Agreed. 0-0 summed it up TBH. Weather conditions largely to blame, but both sides lacked a cutting edge & defences were on top.
Yeah he's been disappointing, we don't create a massive amount of chances but I expected better. January isn't really the best time to go shopping but our hand was forced. Despite his dry spell he might still score a crucial goal at a time I don't expect it.
