Really don’t get the clamour for Bahre. He’s too slow to be a winger, too lightweight to play in behind the striker, like tonight. He was getting in the way a hell of a lot tonight.
Bit harsh the criticism of Bahre , we should have buried them in the first half. One shot to our nine in the first half , two brilliant saves from their keeper and a hit crossbar (Davies great save from their one shot) . Second half we looked flustered and kept putting ourselves under pressure ,which flattered them, they came for a point and got it , not sure about the offside goal ,lino flagged immediately so I sat down before it was put in the net. Pinnock had his worst half of football this season in the second half , still my player of season so far. A win on Friday and it will have been a great week
Thought the draw was pretty fair result we had players out and so did they. The weather was the big winner tonight
Again we really missed having another striking option, it's been done to death but we should have brought someone in during January.
I actually really like Bahre but it wasn’t his game today. He’s either the best player in a Barnsley shirt or the worst. With that being said- we need to give him patience. Can’t be easy be coming to a new country in a new league and not feel accustomed for a while.
Bahre only playing because of injuries and suspensions, Woodrow made a good impression of a midfielder to say he “led the line”.
Sadly tonight wasn't his worst game in a barnsley shirt, Donny at home he was even worse. He needs to pull his finger out and stop been a passenger.
Think of your worst ever Barnsley FC players. They will have had a good game or played a nice ball once in a while, doesn’t make them good
Bahre needs to be turned into a Darren Sheridan type, tackling, chasing & laying off balls. He isn't an attacking midfielder.
Agree with most of the analysis there. I think Donny on Friday will be a harder game. We are always **** there and they are the best team I’ve seen this season.
I like the lad, he was brilliant last week at Southend, but I thought he was poor last night and would have been the first one to be substituted for me. His nationality has no bearing on that whatsoever.
Difficult game in tough conditions that were a bit of a leveller. That being said, we should have gone in a couple up at half-time, Thiam in particular missing very good openings. We gave the ball away far too much and if we could cut that out and make better decisions in and around the opposition box we would be even better than we are. This game more than any other we missed the second striker - talking to Sunderland fans their weakness is the centre of their defence and the lack of strength and pace in there but we never really tested that with just one forward playing mainly deep with his back to the goal. I think Kieffer would have made hay yesterday and ironically the other two players we have out would have also been tailor-made for yesterday's game. Friday now becomes crucial - if we can win that and then get Cam and Jacob back, I think we are in great shape from a difficult week.
Walking up to the car after the game made me realise how bad the conditions were, both teams found it hard against the wind. We still had the best chances though, we really miss Moore and credit to Davies kicking in the second half. Good point int end.
Southend left so much space for him with them chasing the game against 10 men so yes he played well but he had time and space to play in that day. He won’t get that most weeks and think that’s his biggest area to work on
