I do appreciate where you are coming from but I do believe those players would either be outside of our transfer policy or too expensive ... Someone else mentions omar bogle and that emphasises my point.

How can we have had a "problem up top since August" when we are the second highest scorers in league 1.?

We shouldn't be giving anyone assurances of first team football.

Are you seriously saying that not a single third tier standard striker would have come and challenged Moore and Woodrow for one of two starting places?

Because now that we have lost one of our two strikers we have scored five in six, at exactly the wrong time?!

Funny enough we have a very capable centre back in Jackson to come in and do a job, waiting in the wings.
Why do you think we couldn't do the same with our striker situation?

I was reasonably ok with Potts and Moncur going. Moncur had no future at the club and we cashed in while we could. Potts I would have preferred to have kept but the new owners want the club to largely self finance so sales like that are inevitable to keep cash coming in. We've been unlucky with the loss of Brown, McGeehan and now Dougall all in a short space of time but that should be resolved when the first two come back.
In terms of the back up striker I do, on reflection think we slipped up. It's daft to think we could get someone of the same quality as Moore and Woodrow in but we could have recruited someone a step lower. It has seemed clear since the autumn that Stendel doesn't really fancy Adeboyejo. I reckon we could and should have looked at someone who would have been a better option. That's no guarantee we'd have got them and who's to say we didn't try? Nevertheless Woodrow has been left with a very heavy load to carry.

Good point. They've only got Gabriel Jesus and Sane as back up. Don't think they're much better than owt we have.

Sign two more strikers and then we would have 7 strikers in the squad. You are right we have a big enough squad who would have come better than what we had to sit on the bench with Dougal and Jackson others wanting a massive squad in league 1 are talking nonsense, also got to take on FFP or we end up like Wednesday Bolton etc

I get what you're saying on the striker front (we are a bit thin) but apart from that disappointing result against Burton, 0-0 draws away at Portsmouth and Doncaster, a 0-0 draw at home to Sunderland in bad conditions, a 3-0 win at Southend with ten men and a 2-0 win at home to Accrington (who many said would be a difficult game) is not bad going. We may have failed to score against Pompey, Sunderland and Doncaster, but they also failed to score against us. And we are the second highest scorers in the league, best defensively, and unbeaten in 18. So could be worse surely..

Could be worse. If we didn't have a decent defence we could have lost. However, if we had a third striker of league One quality, we might have turned one of those goalless draws into a 1-0 victory. All ifs and maybes of course.

We have a paper thin squad in terms of players good enough to step up when needed.
Players like Green, Williams etc are still developing so throwing them in at the deep end was a big ask, fortunately our superb defensive displays have earnt us 2 very good points.

We are definitely a striker short. Victor is not good enough.

I was happy with the January window.
Basically because Stendel said we had cover - a good squad.
But in hindsight - that’s not been the case.
    So you’re right.
We should have had another striker in.
Hell knows what would happen if Woodrow got injured.

Does anyone remember when the only proper centre forward we had at the club was Rory Fallon - and then we sold him?

We ended up playing Antony Kay up front.

We got nardiello and stallard in the January.

If it’s a serious question, i’ll give it a serious answer.
Because we spent a long time at the start of the season with Woodrow being “2 weeks away” . Then we got him and Moore together and they fired. The gamble was thinking we could not only get through the season with two Strikers but that those two would be good enough to get us promoted. That’s fine but what if one of them gets inju......Doh!
For some to put forward the idea that we have ANY other strikers worthy of the name, on our books is ludicrous.
