None of those examples compare with the level of corruption shown by the FA when they managed to exonerate the England captain so he could travel to the World Cup after Neil Lennon viciously kicked Shearer's boot with his head while laying on the ground. A coward and a cheat who was lucky to come under he jurisdiction of a cowardly incompetent body.
The silence about the sending off in the BBC studio was deafening. If I was being charitable I could aregue that they were pushed for time with the extra time and penalties, but who wants to be charitable when it's Millwall. I am sure Harris, gentleman that he is, was annoyed with the player for getting himself sent off (NOT).
I’m not a fan of Harris either and his silence on almost all behaviour from Millwall fans is embarrassing, however in this instance he had this to say: “We dug in and decided to play with the 5-4-1 to get through to penalties, and then it becomes a lottery. The one major disappointment I do have is Shane Ferguson’s red card – it’s not acceptable on a football pitch.”
That was basically assault. He would have been up before a magistrate if he'd done that outside a nightclub.
He's backtracked on that now though. Now it was tired legs and a tired mind from a person acting out of character due to fatigue. Any punishment, if he decides to punish him, will be kept private. In other words it won't happen
He said that in hindsight, but he was going berserk when it happened, as if it was an unfair decision. He's a Cant
Did he genuinely not get banned for that because he said he wouldn’t go to the World Cup if he did? I don’t know who’s worse in the situation the FA or shearer
