Haven't we been here before? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-36640459 From June 2016 EU referendum petition hijacked by bots The petition currently has more than 3.6 million signatures, more than any other on the parliamentary website. "I voted 33,000 times. Left a script running while I was taking a shower," wrote one member.
I have read (and this was from a former "liberal leaver") that one of the main Leave organizations (it *might* have been UKIP, but I'm not 100% sure) ran a competition to find a workable plan for leaving the EU about 5-6 years ago. This had a number of entries, including Flexcit, No Deal, and various other options. Unfortunately, the arguments over the winning entry got so toxic that the competition was ended with no actual winner (IIRC all the entries had major problems that were known about at the time but kept fairly quiet). So, a few years later when it came to the referendum, the Leave campaign were deliberately vague about the terms for leaving because they knew as soon as it coalesced into one vision it would just collapse in acrimony and in-fighting. They were deliberately selling leave as all things to all people knowing that they couldn't deliver that but it gave them the best shot at winning. Tactics that we later found were successful.
Wow that’s nearly as bad as the Russians invading Facebook and inundating people’s accounts with false propaganda . #aproperreferendumneeded
Farage must be due for the highest honour Russian can convey. He's done more to fulfil Putin's wish list than anyone this side of the Atlantic.
So a demonstration of Farage making two completely false statements and managing to remain arrogant and patronising even as he was brought to account for them. He clearly knows f**k all about Ireland or he'd never have made such basically wrong assertions.
That petition site is pointless, nothing should be made of any petition on there as it is so easy to skew.. But the fact that once petitions reach a certain level, they can be elevated to parliament is the biggest joke when they know exactly its flaws. Said it earlier, it could be a useful tool if it forced you to enter say a voter ID or NI number to ensure the entry is legit.
They're laughing because we're on course to sink nearer to their level when there's no need for it. It's like Barnsley fans laughing at Man U if they were to appoint Nigel Spackman as manager.
So there's currently 3 million plus forged signatures on there? Yeah right. Someone must have forged mine too then.
They should play that Barnsley bloke being interviewed that said he voted leave to stop the Muslims . It should be played on a loop as a lesson as to what information the public have taken and realise that some just hadn’t a clue what the vote was about .
Wow over reaction time Churton, obviously some of the sigs will be genuine, but as a whole, the flaws to the petitions site make them simply not fit for purpose, hence should not be used to signal any debate in the commons.
That interview will haunt me. Another utter muppet talking demonstrably basic rubbish that a 6 year old could argue against and just like Farage he had a sickening air of arrogance as he "put the reporter right".
Or the young lass on youtube saying she wanted us to stay in Eurovision so had to vote to remain.. Another ref would change nothing of either example Marlon. People either are intelligent enough to form a balanced decision based on their own values. Others not so much and just follow like sheep based on a whim.
Hardly an over reaction. You're the one that's screaming fake news. Or do you admit that just a few names may be wrong? Whatever, it's pointless. The whole shambles is being debated on a daily basis so an extra one won't make a ha'porth of difference.
So you admit people were voting on both sides with misinformation ? We should not be leaving on that basis full stop
I should like to know what his opinion is now. Three years ago I think that the majority of the electorate both leave and remain were ill informed.
Currently under 2% of the signatures are from outside the UK. Analysis shows most of them appear to be genuine (<10,000 in France, ~30 in Russia) https://britorbot.org/2019/03/22/revoke-article-50-petition/

Yeah schools... you mean that head teacher on the beeb complaining sje had to scrub the shitters... Her cleaning budgets doubled and she got a ten k pay rise. There was an academy on the news about a month ago that was losing a million PA... I pulled audited accounts out. The reason they were skint. The wage bill and 30% pension contributions. They had 3 staff on 100k plus.
