Great idea ! I think those that’s managed to steer their way through a online petition are more informed and committed than the gonk from Barnsley who said on national tv he voted to stop the Muslims .
no need to worry folks - Uri Gellar has it all under control and Corbyn has no chance of ever getting in
Would I be right in thinking that voting in an online petition requires no more skill or competence than signing up to play Candy Crush, i.e. so simple a fecking baboon could do it? Not exactly a test of intelligence is it? Anyway this thread is as pointless as the worthless (and discredited) petition it's discussing. They might as well have called it 'Sign here if you're a (bad) loser.'
I f you read the thread I wasn’t saying it was a master class to vote on a petition site I said it was more than the gonk who voted to stop Muslims could do.
How is it discredited exactly? Because you don't agree with it? There was one in November proposing a no deal brexit. It got 392, 000 votes. Was that all bots and trolls too? Admittedly only a tenth of the ones supposedly active on this one.
Taken at face value you were suggesting that those who were signing this petition were in some way smarter than the gonk from tarn you mentioned, when in fact the opposite is true. To be honest I'd anticipated you were only being half-serious, as no-one would seriously suggest that there were idiots on only one side of the leave/remain argument.
As others have so ably pointed out elsewhere in this thread, it's discredited because it's so open to various kinds of hijacking and misuse. Everyone knows these things can be massively skewed through electronic shenanigans and multiple voting etc (as has been shown again in this case) - that's why nobody takes them seriously. Even if none of the above were true it's still worthless. None of these petitions mean anything, whether for or against Brexit. The referendum was the only true test, and leave won. You bad losers really need to come to terms with it.
Could not agree more. You wouldn't know that of course given the way desperate remainers have behaved ever since the referendum.........
Why are you so scared of another referendum now that everybody has so much more knowledge about brexit?
I'm officially confused. The petition in question isn't about another referendum, it's about revoking Article 50 and ultimately reversing the result of the referendum. For the record, I couldn't be less fearful of another referendum, as I think leave would win by a far more significant margin, however I do think it would confirm that democracy in this country is a sham, and then all bets would be off (if they aren't already). Who knows what follows that, but I reckon you can all kiss goodbye to the era of left of centre politics.
