We got the usual treatment on this programme again. Not on until after ads, Walsall’s disallowed effort should have stood, goal line technology needed in league one re Williams clearance, ignoring the perfectly placed linesman, our goal was hand ball twice etc etc. What a joke this show is
The linesman couldn’t have been better placed with no obstructions in his way. The whistle went fractionally before the ball was struck for the disallowed goal. Not certain if ball hit Brown’s hand or not, but it certainly hit their players hand who was on the floor just before this. We all know we carried a bit of luck today, but goodness me we deserve some with the things that have gone against us this season.
At our end we clearly heard the whistle before he scored, that's why it wasn't defended. The goal that Williams cleared if it had of been given I hink we wouldn't have thought travesty but the linesman had the best view. I don't care if Holloway wants to underplay us, we do better not 8n the limelight. So proud of oured battling spirit today . What a team!
Early in the season when we were flying, we wondered if we could/would cope with games where we would have to dig deep and do the ‘scruffy stuff’ We are doing that now. It wasn’t pretty today and as the end neared I thought a 0-0 would’ve been quite useful considering how the game panned out. Despite having those close shaves we still went for all the points and got them.
Just for balance... We've had loads of praise on that show recently, often mentioned anfd usually positively referenced. Colin Murray wasn't my cup of tea but does a decent job I think.
This. I couldn’t stand Colin Murray but I think he does a decent job on the programme. Holloway looks a drink away from a good detox programme. He’s got nothing useful to say.
Something I took from the show tonight was the amazing stat from the oxford keeper, at the time I did want us to sign him but as things stand I’m glad we’ve stuck with magic man Davies, however if Davies does leave I wouldn’t mind us looking at him again. He’s kept 48 clean sheets in 150 appearances, that is really impressive, fair play to the lad.
They also perpetuated the myth that Walsall had a perfectly good goal chalked off. The whistle was clearly blown before the ball fell to their lad, our outfield players stopped and Walton made no attempt to save it. How could a goal possibly be given in such circumstances? If our lads had been closing him down would he have had the time and space to hit such a fine shot? Unlikely....
