Starting with Coventry at home next weekend beat them and we go 8 points clear of sunderland meaning they would have to win their 3 games in hand to go above us and I can't see them doing that. 5 wins from 7 and I think that will be enough for 2nd spot. Bearing in mind Sunderland still have pompey to play and Donny won't be easy for them either. Make or break time!

The only thing I know is.. I don't know how many we must win, except it must be one more than Sunderland and Portsmouth.

Five more wins should be enough. I can't see Sunderland winning seven of their remaining games.

5 wins should do it, if we could manage 5 wins and a draw that with our goal difference that should do it. That would leave Sunderland needing 22 points to go above us.

What is it with people on here ??
Donny this Donny that it doesn’t matter. Barnsley only took 2points from them
Let’s go and win all our remaining games.
It’s up to Barnsley to the business now not bloody Donny

I also feel 5 wins will be enough, I think it means Portsmouth and Sunderland would have to have a 100% record to overtake that. However I accept it won't be easy to get 5 wins.

They've now got a few key players out as well.

Thing is, it's not like Sunderland have 3 straight games to play catch up. Their games in hand are sandwiched between the Saturday games

Mathematically, it's in their own hands, but if we keep winning it'll be very tough for them.

So you would begrudge other results going in our favour?

    7 wins would be amazing
    6 wins would be great
5 wins would be better than 4
4 wins would probably not be enough
3 wins would mean 9 points
    2 wins would mean something
1 win would be a win which in itself is better than a draw or defeat.

    Is that clear enough now?

Sunderland play Pompey twice including the Tuppence-Hapenny Cup Final so the league fixture becomes a revenge mission for one of em. Should be tasty.

As it stands, promotion isn't in our hands, so we need to win all 7 and hope for the best elsewhere. Only thing that will change that is Sunderland dropping points.

Lots of assumptions on Sunderland, and chances are they will drop points, but they have promotion in their hands with 10 games left for a reason. They will be favourites in all of their matches, they'll beat Donny comfortably, and have home advantage when they play Portsmouth. Peterborough away might be best chance of them dropping points.

Since they beat Blackpool on New Years Day, Sunderland have won only 1 of 6 away league games, drawing the other 5.

They have 5 league away games + Wembley , plus 4 home games. All this in the space of 35 days. Sunderland will be dropping points, mark my words

I can see Pompey taking Sunderland apart in the final and hopefully that will dent their players confidence moving forward.

Portsmouth have won 7 of 8 meetings apparently. Honestly think on the day it us anyone's though.
