Can I just say how nice it is to have a rival fan come on and be gracious and even handed. It's sad to say that it's sort of unexpected where footy forums are concerned. Hope you enjoy your day.
Well let’s hope you get the opportunity to get revenge on Charlton this season then eyy? Genuinely wish the fans like yourself a cracking day Sunday, it may not be the most prestigious of trophies but once you get to the capital it’s a cracking day and if it’s anything like our trip you’ll love every second. However I do hope your trip to Accrington a few days later is a miserable one.
I've only heard positive things from Barnsley supporters and like you say when you are there it will be a cracking day, the chance to play a final at Wembley doesn't come along very often.
It's brilliant. I'm so glad I went because I broke down enroute and missed the playoff final. Friendly around the stadium, but the match meant a lot for both teams, and going a goal down was as bad as any game.
Trust me you'll love winning the Checkatrade then winning again in the play offs far better than getting automatic. What's better than two Wembley wins? I'd ease up in the league if I were you. You know it makes sense.
The playoff finals are brilliant (when you win). Proper occasions aren't they? That said I'd sooner do it automatically. Preferably at home sat with all the regulars around me. 2 decades since Wilkinsons glancing header sent us on our way. I'll have some more of that thanks!
Seriously?!? You must have been gutted! My brother and dad phoned me a couple of hours before the Swansea play-off final to say they'd broken down and wouldn't be able to make it. They had the tickets, I was on the train from London with Gally, as I'd just flown in from Russia! They were on a wind-up, but let me panic for a couple of minutes before announcing that they were actually just approaching Cardiff. Dicks!
That was one of the most stressful matches I've been to. Until the last penalty went in there was no point during the game I thought we were going to win. Contrast with the Millwall game where at no point before or during the game I thought we were going to lose.
Yeah, unfortunately so. Timing belt snapped at Newport Pagnell. At which point we could probably still have got to the match, but by the time we were recovered and back to the nearest services it was kick off. Very surreal listening to the game in a courtesy car heading north on the M1.
It's mad isn't it. You want to be involved at the business end of the season, but when you are it's torture!
I generally turn to large quantities of alcohol before any of games against the mags, whisky has been known to have been taken not long after breakfast.
For years they used to cane us but we are unbeaten in our last 10 games which included a 6 in a row winning streak which might never be beaten in my lifetime. They tend to get a but upset when we beat them and have been known to punch police horses on occasions.
I hope the police horses punched em back! I've only ever been to St James once and that was way back in about 1984. (We won). It was one of the most hostile atmospheres I've ever been in at a footy ground. Similar to here on a Saturday night after we've lost.
