The political class got a very bloody nose when over 17 million voted leave. When the next election comes around it will only take a 3rd of those voters not to vote for the colour of a rossette like they usually do,And the majority of those in the house of commons now will be looking for new jobs.
just been watching the news Farage and Robinson have whipped the crowd of leave voters up looks like trouble.
But what if they don't Marlon, They are all racists aren't they is this why UKIP have taken Robinson on as a advicer?
Don't think I've seen anyone suggest all leave voters are racist. As for the element that are I'd say they're fairly evenly split between Labour and Tory.
There are undoubtedly racists that voted leave for that reason. There are a lot more who I'd say would deny any accusation of racism but are uncomfortable about the number of foreigners on our streets. Class them how you like, they're split equally between the two main parties in my experience.
I think most of the leave voters be they Labour or Tory are not racist, but the far Right parties like UKIP have more than there fair share.
Fair point. I think it depends on your definition of racist. Many older people grew up in a country with far far fewer non British in the population. They don't like the change and feel uncomfortable. Are they dyed in the wool racists? Not really. However I think they were a big factor in the vote going the way it did.
It has similarities to the "Labour isn't working" poster. To me anyway. It will have similarities to any picture with people in a snake like queue. I understand the purpose behind the image. I do not understand that there were deliberate Nazi undertones to it. It's hard these days to take a picture or represent anything that hasn't been done before.
Am going on 70 now Churtonred and must have been in my teens before I so a Black or Brown man, and the 1st I remember was a feller called Paul Grant and he talked more with the Barnsley accent than me.
I’m sorry but if you can write those two sentences and then still argue your point there’s no real reason to carry on the discussion.
All what the last few year have shown is that barring very few exception the politicial class in the UK is not fit for purpose. For a good few years possibly from the start of the Bliar years politicians have seemingly gone from having substance and ability to do the job to being subserviant soundbite ministers who now they have to earn their money rather thank sticking to easy tasks such as how much to charge for a carrier bag and keeping theiir snouts in the golden trough. The contempt the two big parties have shown for the electorate given the manifesto they were elected on was to leave the Eu. The sneering patronisation and demonisation by the more affluent middle class elite towards the less affluent working class who voted to leave. From your linekars to those silly fuckers with stupid twitter hashtags as their psydumem. The constant crys of racist as soon as someone mentions leave not realising the irony that theres as many actual racists voting remain... Its highlighted and reaffirmed one thing. The working class. The back bone of this country. They are good for two things in the eyes of the elite. Shovelling **** and cannon fodder.
I think given the working class are going to be disproportionately affected by the economic consequences of leaving the EU it is unfair to say that their consideration plays no part in this decision process. I'd also say it's a lazy stereotype to say that working class people necessarily voted leave.
And Labour have sold the working class vote down the swanee, promising to honour the referendum then backing remain. Corbyn and the commies will do owt to get into number 10. Anyone worried about the economy if we were to leave ought to consider the implications for McDonnel getting his horrible hands on the purse strings.
