Question

Out of this squad.how many players do people reckon are seriously good enough for the championship???
I can only think of 5 players who may be good enough..
Davis Pinilos Lindsay Mowatt Moore
So if we do go up . We are going to need at least 11 new players.with experience of championship level.otherwise we will struggle again

 

How many of this squad have experience in the league above? List them.

 

We had similar threads in 2016, and whilst many wrote that squad off as not good enough for the step up, they proved to be more than capable and then the same folk slagged the club off for not being able to keep these 'amazing' players that they'd previously said weren't good enough.

Let's worry about it (or not, because it's pointless) if we get there.

 

Perhaps it’s not the case of having experience of the Championship, but having the ability to compete in the Championship. Many of our current squad are relatively inexperienced at playing at the level we’re currently at, but we are 2nd in the league with a great chance of promotion

I'm puzzled why Pinnock hasn't made your list.

 

Why not Woodrow?

 

Maybe as he’s been off colour for the last half dozen games?

Bit short sighted as in a proper front two he’s shown his ability. I personally think he’ll step up to that level.

But I can understand some saying he won’t given his form since losing Moore. We needed him to step up - he’s regressed. He’s scored one or two yes but he hasn’t played that well.

But not many have in all fairness, we’ve been a bit ‘meh’ as the kids say.

 

He’s our best defender this season, I think he’d do a fine job as long as he didn’t get too casual on the ball.

11 new players with championship experience lol, I'd like us to go sign Dwight Gayle would be great to partner moore.

Sorry I didn’t include pinnock but it was late last night and at my age you forgot players .
So now there maybe 6 players capable of playing in the championship

 

If woodrow is upfront with Moore he will be fine in the championship. He needs a foil/link up man to play with. 1st choice back 4 is fine. Kenny can do the scowen job infront of the back 4. Mowatt is a question mark at that level but he has got 100% better this season. 2 wingers would be a worry. Brown has be very poor last two games. Bench is defo not championship standard......

 

Woodrow as scored 4 in 9 games since Moore got injured.The day Moore got injured Woodrow scored twice that day.Not a bad return considering the nil nil draws with our rivals Sunderland,Portsmouth and Doncaster.

 

Let's get there first mate... A hell of a lot of water to go under the proverbial bridge yet..

 

Mowett has played nearly 130 Championship games and for me he's cruised through league one.I've no doubt he will be a big player for us next season.

 

Watching Woodrows goal again it seems more Premiership class than league one.

 

Nope, my point is a lot of this squad has experience at that level.

 

Moore and Woodrow had 9 goals in their last 6 games together, wonder where we would be with both up top.

 

A fit Moore and Woodrow would have seen us where Luton are now.
