Seen one or two rumours that Kieffers training and was due a medical but does anyone know whats actually going on.?
He’s training with the squad but can’t get involved in games, set pieces etc due to the head injury is what I’ve heard
I don’t get why the club hasn’t said that he’s got a fractured skull, if indeed he has? The hushed way we have dealt with this is a bit strange to me. I’m still clinging to the hope that he’ll return for the last 2 or 3 games and fire us to promotion.....
Until we hear anything official from the club, let's assume that he's out for the season (as stated by the club earlier this season).
The club said it was concussion. IMO - as a footballer who has to head the ball - then that injury could easily keep him out until after Christmas.
Is that 100% fact? If not then words such as “reportedly” or “apparently” should be used here and telling people he’s got a fractured skull should be with caution.
The point is it's still never been confirmed. I didn't give the people a hard time on here for saying he had a fractured skull but it's still never been confirmed what the injury is.
The club have chosen not to publicise it. Just because it hasn't been confirmed doesn't mean its not true. He is back in training, but its non contact only. Shooting and passing drills etc.
I honestly think that the club has handled this really well. Ask the family of Jeff Astle their thoughts on risks from head injuries and they will show you a degree of neglect in the past which, maybe, in some places continues to the present day. It was right that the club put the well-being of the player above any other priority and it was right, therefore, that they declared Kieffer out for the season. Maybe Kieffer himself doesn't want the nature of the injury fully known and the club has respected that wish. I am confident that, in no small part due to the club's diligence, Kieffer will be back playing again in the future and will still have a great career ahead of him. Get well soon, Kieffer, and keeping taking the medical advice.
