    I don’t think he will.
    But it’s a consideration.

Who knows, depends on if he gets any job offers that appeal to him. That could also happen if we get promoted of course.

He's not seen the job through if he does. But I think he'll stay and have another crack.

    Well that’s my point really.
He’s been parachuted in with the club in a bit of turmoil - and he’s done a good job - that will not have gone unnoticed

Yes I know, I was just pointing out that promotion or not, he still could go.

I hope not. I could cope with the inevitable loss of some players, but we need him. We also need to spend wisely. I think we may be fighting a L1 campaign next season. We have just come up short

Will he be kept? The board have made it known that the target was promotion. If we don't go up he's failed to do what was expected of him. Morais was brought in by the same board, failed to achieve the target of staying up and paid the price.

The target was promotion & it is still possible. Sadly though, from a position of strength, we are letting it slip away. The board & club would have been in a much stronger position to achieve its target if they had done what everyone knew - but a striker (ie one that could play for us due to injury, suspension, loss of form etc) - we all knew - they should also have known

Morais got us relegated, many managers get fired for that, and less even. He truly was out of his depth though. It isn’t as straightforward as you are making out here. Stendel has so far done a very good job, we still have a great chance of promotion. If we fail we’ll have fell at practically the last hurdle. Stendel will have learned much from this season.only I can see him leaving only if it is his choice.

Like some of the players I'd imagine he could have some options come the summer that look better than another slog through a League One season, so wouldn't surprise me to see him gone. I'm not sure that's worse than the inevitable plundering of our team that will happen, with the resulting need for us to rebuild massively once again, and our now annual crossing of fingers that enough of our new signings click sufficiently to make us competitive once again. Rinse and repeat thanks to the club's Sisyphean strategy.

We fell at the very last hurdle with Morais taking us down from a very tough league in the final game. The board will decide if not getting promoted from an easier league is a similar story. I wouldn't get shut if we don't go up, but he isn't as good as he is talked up as just yet.

Let’s not kid ourselves, he’s not come here because he wants to live in Barnsley for the rest of his days. If he gets a good offer at a Bundesliga, Premier League or a championship club with a decent budget he’ll be gone & I don’t blame him.

The other thing is will they want him? It might seem harsh but some will look at it in black & white & see promotion favourites failing to go up & think he’s under performed. They won’t consider the squad been weakened in January & losing Moore

Thing is he's done all the difficult bits with us, learning the language and the English game. However He would have the problems of "star" players in the Championship/premiership which is something he's not had to deal with here.

You would have to take into consideration the hand he has been dealt by the board if we don't go up selling Bradshaw (I know Woodrow has been better) selling Potts and even moncur to a extent. Failing to strengthen in January for the push.
Not to mention injurys, Woodrow and moore dougall x2 pinnilos, fryers ect

I think he has done well to potentially finish on the highest points total in many years and we have played some of the best football in 20 years imo. He has also had to blood young players like Ben Williams and Jacob brown. He has worked wonders to get us were we are all things considered.

He’s going to be very wary now imagine if he stays and we miss out on promotion this season. Do alright next season and then get players sold from under him again in Jan. No decent head coach would put up with that approach time and time again.

How many other managers do you know who in your opinion would get us promoted with this squad, having his performing players sold having been forced to play 19 year olds at left back and another 20 year old accademy graduate on the right wing(a position he has never played before). And we will still end up with over 80 points highest points total since Bassett?
If the man from barnsley was still here and played out the exact same season stendel has with the hand stendels been dealt people would be creaming over him and no one would be wanting him gone.

One of the best managers of my lifetime. Bassett was totally not accepted. We played some amazing football under him. Hunter & Danny obviously. Thought Ritchie did very well & wasn't backed.

If we don't go up then the board have failed in providing him with adequate resources to complete the job. January was a disaster.
I wouldn't be surprised if he's looking to move on in the summer if we don't get promoted.
