The last month's results have not been good for a team trying for automatic promotion. But now is the time to get behind the team and do our share as supporters to lift the lads to achieve what we all desire. The doom and gloom on here is to some extent understandable but not doing anyone any good.. Let's hope we can pick up some good results asap and lets just see what happens...
To be assured a play off spot is a good season for me. Not over yet, I think players are getting nervy but surely the same will apply to Sunderland and Portsmouth.
Totally agree. The remaining five games will define our season and whatever the outcome, we are assured a place in the top six, which eighteen other teams in our league will fail to do. Given the fact we were relegated the season before and we probably have one of if not the youngest squad in the division and appointed a German Coach with absolutely zero experience of English football, we have done amazingly well to get where we have in such a short space of time. If we hold our nerve and are promoted automatically, that will be brilliant, but if we do end up in the play offs, as true supporters, we have not got to pull these young lads down. We need to remain positive and strive to get fully behind the squad, in the hope that we are able to cheer them to victory and promotion in the final at Oakwell South.
Fully behind them and hopeful we can put in a better performance Saturday. As I said before the Burton game these lads have given everything this season.
totally agree with this , too may cry babies at minute . get behind the boys one big massive push ....coyr
Are folk having trouble grasping that it is out of our hands and no amount of OTT positivity on here will change that?
its not that its about being positive full stop towards the club . 22 matches prior to this everyone was happy
negativity breeds negativity . i watched us v Coventry and i listened to our fans get on at brown for the full game . no need , what ya reckon his confidence was like at end of game......different when he got winner at walsall
I don’t think that’s really the point. You’re taking my point too literally. It’s about negativity in general around the club - not just on this website
I don't think anyone's asking specifically for positivity on the BBS, they're advocating getting behind the team. By which, I assume they're talking about the next 5 games (more or less, depending on results). Most of us can see what's going wrong. I'll be as fed up as everybody else if we don't go up, but at this moment in time, I'd rather hope for the best. It's a funny old game and we may yet surprise a few people.
Can I just ask? If you were told by a friend that they had just been diagnosed with depression or a serious illness, would you be all 'doom and gloom' or woiuld you at least make an attempt to keep their spirits up? You should never underestimate the power of postive thinking. It can be infectious. I have worked in both types of environment. One where the team was really positive and supportive, management was customer focussed and the clients really noticed and appreciated that everyone was prepared to 'go the extra mile' often above and beyond what they were really paid to do. The other was after the separate groups were merged back into the Corporation and everything became about Performance Management, to the extend that 3 times per year 'reviews' impacted on project delivery which effectively took second place to 'evidencing' individual attainment 'targets'. The turnover of staff increased and the previous 'goodwill' - 'go the extra mile attitudes' evaporated.
I’m staying positive for an automatic promotion place as long as it’s mathematically possible. If we don’t achieve that then it’s time to focus on the playoffs - again staying positive. Glass half full and all that!
Was very disappointed Saturday. We've been struggling a bit, but losing is still summat we've become unaccustomed to. Will be keeping an eye on tonight's game at Sunderland and looking forward to the next two home games. If we don't get 6 points in those games, then we deserve to be in the playoffs. As per usual, I'm over the disappointment and ready to go again.
