bust up in aftermath of sending off,Woodrow going mental at Mama for not getting ball in box, hope pressure of run in not effecting team moral, must be frustrating for Woodrow making runs and no decent service
Mentioned it in another thread but it started when Thiam chose to shoot instead of passing it to Woodrow a few minutes before. Woodrow flipped out shouting at Thiam and then turning round to gesture at Stendel. Then when the next break in play is when the red card happened Woodrow went marching over Thiam and they had a barny. Looks like they kissed and made up though int he third goal celebrations.
Thiam did the hard work but made an incredibly bad decision. Picked out McGeehan not too long after though.
ok, looks like Woodrows rollocking worked then, nows the time to pass if there is more chance of a goal
He put mcgeehans goal on a plate for him after that. Mcgeehan didn't acknowledge him.im the celebrations. I thought it was odd bahre didn't celebrate.
Thiam was out of order. Most of the time I'd say take the shot if it opens up, but the angle was too narrow, and Cauley had a clear shot from about 6 yards. He was screaming for it. It was a bad decision. Thankfully he made up for it with the assist for McGeehan, and Cauley and Thiam did make up. Thiam's decision making needs sorting out though.
. Mama assist for McGeehan goal. McGeehan runs off celebrating. Mama stands there and watches him then turns to walk back to centre circle. It needs drilling into Mama that assists are counted. And they are valued as much as goals scored. Lookingy very much like Mama needs a pep talk.
Mama does have 7 assists and 7 league goals this season. I think he is a confidence player a goal would do him the world of good glad he crosses after rounding the keeper instead of trying to shoot.
I wouldn’t read too much into it, Cam didn't celebrate with anyone other than the advertising board he gave a good shoeing. I was over the moon for Magic Mike too, really happy he’s finally got that goal and hopefully does him a world of good and we get 3 or 4 more this season.
He does look a sulky little girl sometimes. But at the same time his decision making is poor on occasions.
Picked up by a pompey fan on Sunderland's board. "Just watched the Barnsley highlights. As much as you can tell from 7 clips, of which 4 were their goals and the fifth a red card against them, something doesn't seem right. Their body language is all off. Will be interesting to see how the last few games play out"
I seem to remember towards the end of the promotion season to the Premier League, Clint Marcelle & Paul Wilkinson started arguing on the pitch and almost came to blows. A few minutes later, Clint scored the opening goal and everything was forgotten, as we won the game against Charlton 4-0. I noticed Woodrow hugging Thiam as he left the field when he was replaced by Hedges. But this seems to be ignored in the rush to question team spirit. If we go up, I think this'll get forgotten about, too, and rightly so.
I was going to reply to your expert opinion but then I thought **** it . So **** it you know nowt about a team game .
Was Thiam in a microcosm, brilliant skill to bring the ball down, puts the defender on his arse then makes the truly awful decision to shoot when a simple pass is on. Mcgeehan a few minutes after fired one 10 yards over the bar from outside the box when we had 2 men over and could have worked a better opening. Our decision making in the final third is a times woeful, it makes the stats look good as we always have plenty of shots, and clearly we score plenty of goals. Just feel like we have left points on the table we should have had this season due to it. I'm probably just striving for perfection though and you dont get that in league one.
Also noticed Bahre and Thiam fighting over who was going to take the free kick after the red card. Thiam got it and smashed it into wall. I was a bit disappointed after all the stuff about team togetherness we did seem a bit deflated and seeing players argue never nice
Football can be a very frustrating game, every player thinks that the others should pass to them instead of shooting, sometimes they're right sometimes they're not, the result is that you get fractious little spats in any team successful or otherwise. I remember Ron Futcher playing merry hell with Gordon Owen for not squaring the ball and going for goal from a tight angle. They got over it, the lads in this team will too.
McGeehan looked absolutely delighted for Bahre after the first goal. Celebrated so enthusiastically with him that I was worried he'd do him an injury!
