The Expanse is infinitely better than GoT...

My god! I'm a big quoter of it's all subjective but come on lads!
I've read the books. They were superb. I've watched the series up to end of series 7. It's brilliant. Magnificently filmed, acted and a plot that leaves you unsure if your current favourite character is going to make it through the next episode.

12 I think not sure without checking to be honest, but yes that's why it feel like a streamlined version on the box. Think both are great just very different things.

Problem I have with it is that the characters are all pretty hateful, there isn't a single one that I cared about enough to hope they lived... other than Sean Bean and that kids Dire Wolf... I was invested in that things survival.

Well Daenerys I like. Bit ruthless but well meaning. And John Snow. And what about Tyrion? And Varys? And Arya?
Anyroad up I've just searched The Expanse and it looks good. There's a lack of decent sci fi. What platform is it on?

If I watched anymore of it there may have been some one I might have grown to like!

Expanse was on Netflix but Amazon have bought the rights now so it'll be on Amazon Prime I think.

Me too. I'm a bit narked with George* for getting side tracked with the show instead of finishing the books.

    * Martin, not Spicer.

Imagine a book written by George Spicer... It'd be all buck wheat risotto and questionable sexual encounters....

Someone I work with moans about this, too, and says that Martin is now dead to him because he's never released The Winds of Winter and instead chose to 'piss about' writing Fire and Blood.

I happened to really enjoy the latter, though.

watched the show and read the books. think its great

The books are incredibly annoying though. the story is great but his writing style I hate. for too descriptive for my liking, can spend 10 pages just telling what foods on table for a feast and describes what everyone is wearing right down to colour of their underwear. I end up skipping pages thinking do i really need to know this ****

Listened to all the books on Audible, would rather read them, The books are just weighing down on my bookshelf, but I can have it on while driving long distances.

Also watched the show. Think it's fantastic. Best thing on TV by far. Nothing comes close to it, in terms of production quality, quality of acting etc.

I absolutely love the show, I'm going to be gutted when it finally ends next month. I've tried to read the books but each time I pick the first one up, I struggle to get beyond the first 20-30 pages. Normally I can't put a book down when I like it.

The only other show that was consistently this good was Breaking Bad. And perhaps The Sopranos.

Started watching it well into the series.
So if yer didn’t watch it from the start you don’t understand who anyone is and why they are doing what they are doing.
    All very confusing.
    But an absolute masterpiece!!!
A series that has set the standard which is very unlikely to be beaten.
Each episode like a feature film production.
    Incredible.
