According to Sunderland forum he broke his foot against Accrington is only playing with injections and not training at all. And they called us desperate for kieffer coming back after all clear from the doctors.
Must be a very slight fracture to still be playing. Presumably it cant be made any worse by impact. Not that big a deal .
If wouldn’t be surprising if Pompey targeted him for a bit of ‘rough stuff’. Different players constantly kicking him at every opportunity. Worth a few yellows if it either nullifies him or takes him out of the game altogether. Not that I’m advocating this but these things do happen especially with so much riding on the game.
On nearly 40k a week in the third tier of English football he should be willing to play with no feet.
Is it sensible for him in the long term? Could do more harm than good. He is far and away Sunderlands best player so on that basis alone I say let him play against Pompey and then rest up for the remainder of the season.
If he's not fit don't play him and stick another defender on. A point is better than carrying an injured player for them....
Portsmouth are gonna win that match. If you read their forum for a few mins you can sense the fear they have of Portsmouth
Pompey are their bogey team, but to be fair I've read several posts saying they think we are the better team. I have a feeling Sunderland will get at least a draw on Saturday though, in revenge for Wembley. I also have a hunch that if we beat Blackpool and they draw, they could both slip up in their games in hand.
I agree, Peterborough should be a tough game for Portsmouth and I think Southend if they are fighting for survival will give it everything . I think our games could be tough actually even ,with the pressure, against Blackpool who have none of their own.
I'm nervous as hell about Saturday, but I've been nervous since Walsall away. I think these lads will do the business on Saturday though mate. I think the pressure will bring out the best in them and they'll find a way to win, even if it's heavy going. If we get the early goal it could even be similar to Monday, which was another pressure game.
I could beat Southend, on my own, with no team mates. they are they most dreadful team in this Division. It's a guaranteed three points for the Mackems in their last game.
