As ever, there is no such thing as a routine Barnsley win.

If it were possible to remove the promotion context, then it could be seen as the better team eventually getting their just desserts.

But let's face it - the fans were put through the wringer once again.

Reminding us all of how much it means to us.

We ought to go up now, but let's see.

    A great day.

It was a perfect afternoon with our result and the two games that involved where we might finish. I can't remember the last 2-1 that was so comfortable. You always want a third but it never felt today like we needed it to kill the game. We dominated the entire game. They scored against the run of play and we carried on dominating. We didn't let the constant time wasting affect us.

Niw it's over I can say I enjoyed it more for the rollercoaster ride because we really threw everything at them, but I didn't at 1- 0 down!

Even at 1 down I thought we get the points - not much danger after we equalised

Reminds me of the game in 1996/97 when we beat Charlton at home (albeit we thrashed Charlton) and Wolves dropped ridiculous points by losing in a final ten minute flurry to (was it) Reading? The job wasn't done - but you started to get that feeling...

But that doesn't matter, only what the score is at full time.

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/47994515

That was as dominant of a 2-1 win you could watch. If we had any slight negative it was we were very wasteful with great chances so they couldn't have been complaints by Blackpool even if we had scored five or six.

I was never worried today. Even at 1 down.

There was no way we wouldn't beat Blackpool. Streets better than them on the day, even factoring in how big a game it was.

My mate said it's a shame we didn't cut loose today and at Plymouth. We could have made up the goal difference on Luton over the two games.

Perhaps you could tell us the result against Bristol Rovers, so that we can all lump on now.

I think I spotted Big Lil wearing a Hull Archeology top as I got out my car in the car park so I was sure it was a good omen of a positive day :)

I never count my chickens etc.

And suggesting that we should have played in a different way over the last few games in order to gladden our goal difference is disrespecting tactics, the opposition, our manager, and real life.

    Tell your mate that.

Where did I suggest we should play in a different way?

I'm talking about better finishing. It's a fact that at Plymouth and today we had lots of shots, and could easily won both games scoring more heavily.

Your mate apparently said it's a shame we didn't cut loose. Which might have ended up with a different result. You never know.

Why you post your mate's opinion rather than your own I do not know.

My mate intimated that it's a shame we couldn't get more goals today and Monday so we could have had a similar goal difference to Luton. I simply repeated what he said, but didn't quote him word for word.

If you want to be typically pedantic and make sarcastic comments over something as throwaway as that, then crack on.

Why you have to condescend to fellow fans like you do is beyond me. Maybe you work with people you can talk down to? I dunno.

My aim is never to belittle anyone on here. I hold no crown.

You posted your mate's views. There's nothing pedantic in that.

    That's fine.

    Go in peace.
