I can see the Marras only drawing by a score of one cheesy chip to one bottle of bloo pop, with fower billion MLFs locked out, ha'way. But I find it hard to make a case for Pompey losing tonight.
They only need to draw and it’s game over. It’ll be ‘hard on’ them, but they’ve got to play well and stick loads of balls into the box to get anything from a very fit Peter Borough. I hope they get shafted.
Not mathematically. If we lose and Pompey take four points with a goal difference swing of ten or something, they finish above us. It is unlikely, but the numbers are the numbers. Portsmouth 0-0 Posh. Bristol Rovers 4-1 Barnsley (we are going for a winner in the last ten minutes and collapse.) Portsmouth 7-0 Accrington (the latter are on the beach, as we were when we let seven in at West Brom.)
It’s genuinely closer then we think, Peterborough have got a performance in them when they feel like it. Sunderland might be throwing in the towel also and resting key players for the play offs. 10pm tonight we might be promoted
It would be strange being all but promoted whilst laying on my settee watching telly with one eye on the football. Of course we would still need to win on Saturday regardless, but that would be to try and win the whole thing. Just having to win to overtake Luton would be a lot different pressure than having to win to make sure of promotion with Pompey breathing down our necks. Will be an interesting evening.
Portsmouth won 7 on the bounce, then drew away at Sunderland. Cant see them dropping points this week. We have to win on Saturday
