Well, you could guess. Or you could accept the actual reason that has been stated several times in this thread that the club staff including CEO/Owner./ Operations Director gave at a fan engagement forum not all that long ago.
Yeah, but someone's mate who works at oakwell for 2 hours every 2 weeks knows exactly what's going on, more than the CEO, you see. He's the real decision maker.
How is that me suggesting that he knows more than the CEO you moron? He's told me his understanding of it, and I've posted it on here.
So you're purporting what he said as an opinion now? You seemed fairly certain of it in the OP, or are you just trying to cause trouble? If it looks like **** and smells like ****, it's ****. And the club not selling tickets 'for no reason' is absolute ****. That's without hearing what the CEO has said about it in the past, and without seeing with my own eyes the fact that the toilets have been knocked down in that half of the stand.
All I've done is report what he's told me. He's worked at the club for several years and I have no reason to suspect that he would fabricate a story about the club. Not sure what your issue is with me. Stop trolling.
Ask yourself though, why would the club not sell tickets for half of a stand 'for no reason'? Why would they purposely lose money? They wouldn't. Hence there must be a reason. Whether it's an acceptable reason or not, depends on what you deem acceptable. We know parts of the reason, such as no facilities (I can confirm that there's no toilets, I've seen them knocked down with my own eyes) - I don't know if there's any refreshments in that side of the stand (or if there has to be refreshments, legally?) but I do know that the single refreshments stand in the west stand currently can't handle double the amount of patrons. It can't even handle the current amount.
I'm with Spuggy on this one - absolutely nothing wrong with his OP. The 'Guide to Safety at Sports Grounds' will show why the West Stand is only half full. As Gally pointed out there aren't enough facilities to meet the needs of a full stand and with the limited entrance/exits to the stand there has almost certainly been a restriction imposed on the number of supporters that can be housed in the Stand. It may be that the number of supporters (50% of capacity) allowed in the Stand could sit anywhere but the club find it easier to manage/steward them if they're in one section.
I don't have a problem with Spuggy in the slightest. The thing I take issue with is him saying 'The club are just refusing to sell tickets in there for no reason' - A statement which is clearly false, presented as fact and something which someone could easily use to bash the club and spread misinformation.
I haven't presented it as fact though. All I have done is taken the information given to me and post it on here.
Fair enough. That's not how it reads though, at least to me. It appears that others thought the same. It reads to me as you're using the fact that he works at the club as evidence that what he's saying is true. Not sure why you'd mention that he works at the club if this wasn't the case.
From your OP... "Get ready for some disappointing news" That reads like your about to state a fact. Try "my mate reckons", save you a heap of bother next time!
I must be honest Spuggy, your OP does come across as BarnsleyReds suggests. At no point do you use terms like "believes" or even "his opinion". To those of us who ave heard from the owners mouths(or seen second hand thanks to folk like Gally transcribing his words), then it looks like a bit of trouble causing, as there is very clearly reason the whole of the stand can't be used(lack of toilets, for example)...
Probably because that's ticket resale and is illegal under section 166 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994 unless the resale is authorized by the organizer of the match.
No its called conmon sense and doing someone a favour and getting a bit of money back as one kind bloke offered me a ticket at oxford game as i was paying in coz his son couldn't go and he wouldn't accept any money so i got him a bottle of beer instead. My good fortune.
