    Sure and their fans too. I used to teach down their years ago and stayed in touch with many folk. The congratulations messages tonight have been humbling! True fans who know what it means to go to the bottom and back! Hope they beat them Dem Mackems in Play-offs!

    A touch of class. In world where we still have Joey Barton as a manager, some faith is restored.

    They were out muscled and fought last night & lost their cool. I still think they will win the playoffs.

    Sunderland used to be a great club with passionate supporters (I have a fondness because my dad was born there, moving to Thurnscoe in 1932 when he was 12), But since the Premier League they have become just another arrogant deluded bunch of numpties. I still like the fact that they beat Dirty Leeds in the Cup final in 1973 though....

    After visiting Portsmouth this season and staying over, every single one of them were brilliant. Friendly banter, and the loudest away ground I’ve been to all season.

    That said I cant see myself cheering them on because it’s a horrible journey down there and I don’t fancy it again next season.

    As for Sunderland, I never had a problem with them Infact I used to enjoy them staying up on the final day every season in the prem. but this year I’ve just found them a horrible arrogant bunch of fans and I really hope they stay in league one for another season.
