Graham Alexander's Salford City beat Eastleigh 4-3 on penalties in the Semi-final of the National League play off semi final and will now face AFC Fylde in the final to see who qualifies to play in League Two from next season. If it's Salford, I would imagine they would have to carry out major works to ensure that their Stadium was fit for purpose. At the moment, it looks a bit sparse and reminds me a lot of a ground I played on times many re- Hatfield Main AFC's Dunscroft Welfare Ground. Although I would imagine that majority shareholder Peter Lim and his co-directors Ryan Giggs, Nicky Butt, Paul Scholes, Phil and Gary Neville and David Beckham have enough brass between them to fund the required improvements.
If they go up I could see them ending up a competent league 1 team in a few years ,a bit like Fleetwood who have come from a similar background .
I believe he did GO. But after quitting as Manager of Oldham I believe he's gone back on the board at Salford AFC. Lim is the major shareholder with 40% and Butt, Giggs, the Nevilles, Scholes and Beckham hold 10% each.
AFC Fylde are my local team so I'll be rooting for them. They have reached the cup final as well, so are off to Wembley twice on consecutive weekends!
It's already up to standard or they wouldn't have been allowed in the Play-Offs. Concorde Rangers were kicked out of this season's Conference South Play-Offs for just that reason.
I honestly don't know PT . I made a point of watching the programme they did on them on TV and it looked rather spartan. The Stadium holds just over 5,000 but of that, I believe they have only got just over 2,000 seats. They have done some improvements, but as a member of the EFL there are probably some H&S initiatives that they need to comply with. I don't think it will be a problem for them anyway, because like Kirkham Tyke, I fully expect AFC Fylde to beat them in the final.
Ground looked Upto required standard when we visited last season for the friendly. Nice little set up and much better than Bristol yesterday
The ground was totally done up for this season, it used to be hideous with the grass bank but now tbf is a quality little stadium, just over 2000 seats and as you say 3000 safe standing, it is probably better than many league 2 stadia
They will be OK then. Only saw it on the TV documentary programme when they were in a league lower than where they are now.
