A loan would only be an option if they didn’t think Walton was quite ready for the Championship. I’d expect Walton to be first choice if fit and deemed up to the task. They gave him a new contract, so they must rate him. As a keeper, as with any other position I guess, it’s game time that makes you the player. Davies was the same at Wednesday - couldn’t get in the team.
I’ve seen a few things on Twitter linking Davies with Stoke. I guess if that’s true then he’ll probably be off. Let’s hope it’s not and he stays though.
I don’t think Davies will go to play second fiddle in any team, so for me he would surely want first team football and not keep the bench warm. That said, money does talk!
It does, unfortunately. And he's put himself in the shop window these last few weeks in particular with a run of outstanding saves. I'd be amazed if he wasn't already on somebody's spreadsheet.
I completely agree. He will want his international career to blossom so first team football will be a priority for him and I have no doubt he'll get it with a championship club. I'm just hoping that it is with us.
That would make sense if Jack Butland is moving on from Stoke. Davies would be teaming up with Joe Allen and Sam Vokes of the Welsh squad. I would like Davies to stay, but Nathan Jones will know him well enough. We are being linked with Kelly of Livingstone and formerly of Rangers.
Yep, some of the **** that was written about him on here last season was diabolical. Glad he's proved his doubters wrong, unfortunately for us it probably means he's off.
I thought the majority of what was written on here about him last year was fairly accurate at the time.
@TonyTyke and I were told by a convincing-sounding gentleman on a train that Davies is going to Wigan. It MIGHT be nonsense, but he sounded like he knew his stuff.
Who has he proved wrong? He was shocking last season. He's been excellent this season, and his stock as never been higher if he wants to move on then fair play to him.
It's nearer to Wales And they'll pay more than us, and he's only 2 or 3 poor games away from being the Devil incarnate for some on here.
Surely that would be the case as a new keeper too Plus the challenge of getting used to a new back 4. He doesn't owe us anything so his choice if he wants to move, but surprised he'd favour Wigan.
