Whilst it would be fantastic to welcome JB back to Oakwell Mr B, I personally don't think, there's the remotest chance of that happening. The reason that a vacancy is going to arise as Stoke's new keeper, is that Butland is being lined up by a Premiership club. He still harbours ambitions of being No 1 for England and to stand any chance of that happening, he needs to test himself against the best that the Premiership has to offer. Current custodian Pickford , only seriously emerged as a prospect for England ,following his move from Sunderland to Everton, so Butland is probably convinced that to enhance his chances, he needs to play in the Prem. Former workmate of mine supports the Toffees was telling me that he had heard that Manager Silva still needed convincing as to right for Pickford to hold the No1 jersey. Apparently he does not hide his admiration for their No 2 Dutch international Maarten Stekelenburg and is seriously toying with the idea of handing the No 1 jersey to him in time for next season.
I know Huddersfield are looking at him.. and others. Their keeper is out of contract going back to Holland supposed to be on 60k a week. Their fan's saying if they could get Davies for 30k a week it would be a good deal.. wouldn't have to move house or anything. I work for an Huddersfield firm so work with quite a few of em.. I said they'd get 3 Adam Davies for 30k a week What a different world we now live in, and what a problem we'll have to compete next season in the championship.
There you go https://www.futwiz.com/en/fifa19/league/bundesliga/rating/all/all/goalkeepers/20/0 I predict we sign someone listed there but not Timo Horn who as the best keeper is apparently worth six million.
Do people on here just close their eyes, stick their fingers in their ears and sing lalala every time they are told that the owner’s money is not our money; and that Barnsley Football Club is not rich just because our owners, who own dozens of other businesses too, are. Jack Butland took a huge wage cut when Stoke were relegated but was still on about 35k a week with appearance fees this season. If they offered Davies half of that it would blow us out of the water. Not sure what he gets with us but it won’t be five figures a week.
You want us to offer him over £20k a week on a five year deal? What did you say in one of your other posts, 'Get Real Man'?
Davies will be a small fish in a big pond at Stoke. He will be under more intense scrutiny and criticism esp if he is on a higher wage. Whether he succeeds or not is a matter of opinion. Hopefully we recruit very well and get someone in who is actually better than he is. Now that would be a happy ending.
Do we just lay down and accept what the new owners do then and as a fan of 60 years and financially contributed to oakwell for 60 years. And yes i will sing la la la because weve heard all this before every bl###'y year.
Great move for the lad if it comes off. I did also think Hull too - as he wouldn’t have to maybe move house.
Haha. You said pay him the money! That money is over £20k a week so you're basically saying we should be throwing £5 million at Davies if we're to match the contract that is believed to be on offer elsewhere.
What do you want the owners to do? Throw millions at the club? They were never going to do that, they said so when they bought it.
Thank you. all of ya comments makes mine credible then. As i said, we are an academy, we make players, dont buy them. Get in.
