It’s nice that, I like my original better though, shame if only fits my little girl these days as I was 6 when it was bought for me.
Wish the club would sell stuff like this, I much prefer the retro shirts to current ones personally. The prem one they brought back went down a treat. Shame you still can’t buy that from official store.
That is absolute quality. My first replica strip was from a couple of seasons later, Umbro with the white collar and piping on the shoulder.
I only hope for their sake that they’ve got permission from Umbro and the club to produce these knock offs that they’re charging so much for.
Why would the club decline to put their likeness on a wearable item that they have no control over the quality of? No idea.
Well the club have done retro shirts before and presumably wouldn’t want to miss out on potential future revenue around their copyright when they are in a position to do an umbro shirt. Expect the lawyers who look after copyright infringements will be in touch with them
Looking at the Twitter feed, they appear to have had some bother with Sheffield Wednesday. It's a pity if it's not legit, as all of their shirts look absolutely amazing. The attention to detail is incredible. May treat myself to a Lyons Cakes shirt, and would definitely want the Sandal Bayern kit. The 77-78 Sheffield United shirt is also an absolute belter. Love Admiral kits.
I'm sorry, but they're clearly not legit. There's not a chance Umbro, for example would let people make knock-offs. And "after being threatened with legal action" they've stopped advertising swfc shirts, but not stopped selling them... Not exactly an honest way to make a living, is it.
I thought that after a certain time period, not all copyright rules apply, but I could of course be completely wrong as I'm no expert in the field. How "honest" it is - well, if the product is decent quality, they're meeting a demand which is clearly there and nobody else is fulfilling and the shirts aren't made by kids earning 12p a day in a sweatshop in Bangladesh, I don't see any particular moral issue with it. The legal issue is another question of course.
