How is this possible He Took over an established side in February up at the top of the league and stayed there Stendel took over the youngest side in the division introduced a new style of play lost his assistant and still managed to get the team promoted oh and he was manager the whole season ! Or am I just biased.
Don’t think we can complain. Would have been easy for a manager leaving to derail Luton completely, so he’s done well. I bet Daniel was a very close second though
Tough one as he didn't do the job all season, obviously did something right though Luton going up is a much bigger achievement than us going up. Credit to them.
No complaints from me. He has done a great job to keep them going and win the title. Good case for Stendel too so he could have been given it and I doubt many would be unhappy
I think Harford is a well known/liked character in the game & this is voted on by his peers. Dan may have rubbed one or two up the wrong way, not to mention any names.
Any other season I'd agree with this, but like others have said; Stendel had no experience with the English game, came in and imposed a totally new playing concept, coped with the exit of his right-hand man, unbeaten at home... List goes on. Factor in all that and Stendel should have won the award.
Is the LMA award based in votes from all the other managers? If it is I kind of understand why Stendel didn’t win. He had a tendency to wind other managers up the wrong way
Won the league with four players deemed not good enough for us and on a average home gate 3000 less than we get so much smaller budget. Done what clubs with the biggest budgets like Sunderland and Portsmouth couldn't do. Seems deserved.
The Championship LMA award went to Chris Wilder. He also won the overall LMA's Manager of the Season award. Guardiola was of course named the Premierships Manager of the Season.
It’s a meaningless accolade, but still laughable that it’s gone to Harford. It’s like inheriting a fortune and then being praised for your incredible money-making skills.
Fair play to him, I wouldn't tell him to his face he didn't deserve it. And I suppose he's won the league with Elliot Lee and George Moncur in his side, probably gets the nod for that alone. Daniel should be proud and so should we of what he's achieved this season, with losing his right hand man, Kieffer Moore, Woodrow for that extremely long fortnight, losing 3 players when we had 3 games in 6 days, the Joey Barton incident and losing Brad Potts in January to name off the top of my head. Without knowing the ins and outs I cant imagine Hartford has had to deal with what Stendel has had to. But he's also been unbeaten at home and also won the league so hats off to them both. can imagine the "massive clubs" in this division could only dream of having a manager like either of these two.
Harford got the job on 10th January when Luton were second. He then won the title. What are people complaining about?
It’s not though, is it. He came into a team in second, whose manager left at short notice. That would have derailed 9/10 clubs. He did a fantastic job really, to not only steady the ship, but to improve on the position of the club.
