Not at all! There are no good options, but Corbyn is by far the worst!

A Westminster "insider" is telling me that Johnson has little chance of being the Tories next PM.
He's apparently despised by quite a number of influential Tory MP's.
Their money is going on David Liddington , if of course he puts himself forward. Non controversial
and a safe pair of hands. He has been described in the past as the " de facto Prime Minister", as
Theresa's hands were apparently removed from the parties "tiller" some time ago.

Cant see it being Liddington - too moderate for the ERG and the majority of the party members - I think he is one of the least bad choices from a point of view of the country but want he a remainer originally too. I still think it will be Boris - he only needs to get to the last 2 and then the party members will vote him in if I understand the process correctly

    Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe.

    Foreign Secretary's "intervention".

Now to be PM? May was dreadful, but I'm now thinking of Paul Warhurst's debut vs Brek Shea's on another thread as as strange link.

Following on from this, quite a few are hoping Jeremy Hunt runs for it and see him as very credible

I don't think they see Lidington being their Leader long term. They don't need any further controversy
and even though he is a remainer, he is seen as the safer option, that can "steady the ship" until the
    next General Election.

There has been a further development during the day, in that the Chair of the 1922 Committee Sir
Graham Brady has now resigned his position, which is now being seen as a pointer to the fact that
he could well put himself forward as a credible candidate.

If Johnson gets onto the final ballot of members then he is highly likely to win. A lot now depends on whether his numerous enemies within the parliamentary party can somehow contrive a way to prevent him from making the final 2. The members would of course be furious if they were deprived of the chance to vote for him, so whether that actually happens is another matter. In normal times, I'd say that Rory Stewart is the sort of leader they need to drag them from the extreme fringes. However, these are far from normal times in British politics.

really? you think Diane Abbott is more scary than that professional liar de Pffefel? You think she'd do more damage to this country and it's people than Boris Feckin' Johnson? seriously?
