In the paper today they go into more detail. The cash Championship clubs get is split in to two payments which is one from the premier league to apparently stop the gap getting bigger between the top flight and the rest (that's going well), and the TV money. It was the last season of the previous TV deal and even though cash for next season hasn't been announced yet based on the season just gone they reckon it will be worth 7.2 million which is 2.5 million off the premier league and 4.7 million off Sky.

You also get 100k for every home game on TV and 10k as the away team. Unless it's a Sunday which is 120k and Thursday which is 140k. It just goes to show how important it is to at least be in the second tier. Sky paid 35 percent more for their new TV deal so those figures are going to keep rising.

Will Hudders and Cardiff also recieve the 5 million that other championship clubs recieve. Personally I think the parachute payments are wrong on all levels, you're no longer gracing the PL but yet you are still impart receiving benefits from that exclusive club.
Cut your cloth accordingly whilst attempting to remain in the PL, but if you dont then so be it.

They were introduced to allow a club to deal with the burden of a huge wage bill that is, unfortunately, necessary to give you any chance of competing in the Premier League.
But every team now has relegation clauses written into all contracts that brings that wage bill down to a more manageable level should relegation occur. If they don't that's gross negligence.
Consequently the parachute payments have simply become a transfer fund for relegated clubs. It doesn't make it impossible for the likes of us to compete but it's very, very difficult.

They’ve been haphazardly trying to close gaps , make it fair etc etc whichever way they want to word it for years and nowhere near still.
Meanwhile all the fingers in the pie are getting fatter whilst they devise another idea that’ll not work and still enable fingers in pie to get fatter.
