seriously how long do you think you could last without the internet, no emails, social media, you tube etc...
So used to doing everything instantly. The internet is a wonderful thing on a par with the industrial revolution.
I got rid of Facebook and it was the best thing I ever did, the amount of hours wasted is shocking. But getting rid of everything else would mean I have to speak to real people... No thanks
I'd miss it, but I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. Football scores from teletext, catching up with friends and family face to face, shopping in real shops. All sounds fine to me. Biggest plus is that I'd get through more books. Oh, almost forgot... No more endless Brexit debates online. Yes, close it down. Close it down now!
I love the quickness of everything now but did first 50 years of my life without any of it probably miss it now but who knows
Last weekend our internet went down which meant I had to have conversations with my wife and two step daughters. They're not bad people once you get to know them.
It's a double edged sword like most things. My girlfriend can whatsapp or Skype her sister who lives in Colombia every day if she wants. Without it it would be exchanging letters and seeing each other every second xmas. In so many ways it's a wonderful thing but it also has the potential to be used for serious mischief and we need to get some control over that pretty sharpish.
