not enough folk armed in order to stop another massacre, as ‘disgruntled’ colleague slaughters 12 colleagues!

It's like here in Europe with that terrible shooting at the French music concert a few years ago. If security had been legally allowed to carry a gun they wouldn't have been so helpless at what was happening.

Whenever USA have a shooting there is nobody near it with a gun to stop the shooter. The shooter can do whatever they want and end so many innocent lives.

Yes. More guns is the answer.

    Arm everyone.

Just wait for when they start arming teachers and one of them has a breakdown in the classroom...

Quite possibly the most retarded, non-WUM thing I've ever read on here!

You don't solve a gun problem with more guns.

I've no idea how you do solve the problem without amending the constitution. One thing I do know is that if I lived in America I would definitely keep a gun in the house.

Well all I can say is that if everyone had a gun then no one would ever be sacked or pissed off at anyone, there'd be carnage.

As far as I remember from my Politics A level it was a right to bear arms. They could still have that right but do as we do here and have to keep them locked away or in gun clubs. It would be a start.

Australia dealt with the problem very swiftly and as far as im aware there hasn't been another massacre there this year?

For your kid to get hold of? Or an intruder? I certainly would never have one in my house.

Are you talking about the terrorist attack in Christchurch, NZ? Or have I missed a shooting in Australia?

I appreciate it isn't easy to solve but by flooding the streets with more guns all it will do is lead to more deaths.

The Americans are obsessed with guns and persuading them to give them up is going to be nigh on impossible. It will take something absolutely huge for them to change their minds. Just can't see it.

My worry would be that the intruder would already have a gun.

Do you have any knives in your house?

It is impossible. Even if a kindergarten teacher massacred one hundred four year olds they still wouldn't change their minds.

Surely you would want to protect yourself though?

The American argument is there's always been guns in America since its inception . These mass shootings are a recent phenomenon ( last 30 years or so) . I do agree though Titus , the yanks will never give them up .

If an intruder has a gun I would expect that you also having a gun actually increases the chances of you dying.

The constitution was wrote over 100 years ago when folk had pistols which fired one shot. It was implemented to allow an armed insurrection should the government become tyrannical.
The country had only become a fledgling democracy.
It was wasn't intended to remain or include 21st century assault rifles.
The industrial arms complex have ensured it remains, becomes distorted and they've really financially out of it.
If guns sales drop, develop more dangerous weapons and sell them in your local Wal-Mart.
While they're at it they put them in the shop window, live demos in places like Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan.
