https://www.90min.com/posts/6204589...-fans-currently-on-season-ticket-waiting-list It will sound harsh to some people but when you've a waiting list so long of people wanting to watch them play, you can't blame them for bringing in the rule.
It makes sense if 50,000 people want to go and watch them and can't, that they would want if possible for all their season ticket holders to be people who'd go to every single game.
As long as they take into consideration illnesses etc . People have things going in their lives that maybe for one season they can’t attend many games . It’s a good idea in principle as long as it’s understanding but it’s a bit of a bugger if you’ve to provide a sick note to support a football club . Maybe over two seasons is a better way.
Good shout IMO, wanting supporters who can be there more than ones who dont, the club makes no extra income but understands there will be supporters who will attend many more games than 7 in a season ( maybe if they did something where the season ticket holder, if possible, could inform the stadium of non attendance, that person's seat is then sold for a POTD supporter, the person retains ST and the club make a few bob)
Isn't there a similar thing at Man Utd if you don't buy cup tickets as a season ticket holder you can't renew it the next season.
They have a system where you can sell or give your ticket to someone for a game and it still counts towards your attendance. So these people couldn't even be bothered to let someone else go, actually leaving the seats empty. And the rule was known at the start of the season.
Fair enough . But they’ll will be some who fall foul of the riles imo , illness, tragedy etc but I imagine in most cases it’ll be fair enough. Interestingly many years ago went on a tour of old Trafford and the tour guide stated that there was a fair per cent of S/T holders who are probably dead but family have kept their ticket on so as not to join the waiting list .
The brilliant thing about the scheme is that if you can’t attend a match, you contact Dortmund and they let someone else use your seat for the game. You get a bit of cash back and it counts towards your minimum no. of matches for renewal; it’s literally a win win
