To be honest, I don't really mind if it's an all female panel commentating on the women's game - they're the ones who have played it after all. Doesn't surprise me either with the BBC in 2019 though. I will complain though if we get an all female panel for a men's game.
It's been an all male punditry team most weeks. The teams playing have been all male every week though.
And of the standard of the women's game. My wife did ask how good womens football was and asked what would be the result if Barnsley fc played the England womens national team. I told her that Barnsley would win comfortably.
Doesn't bother me who the pundits are to be honest as long as they speak well and offer interesting comments. Some male ex pros are terrible (e.g. Souness, Owen, Savage) whereas I think Alex Scott, who is probably the only female pundit who gets regular work, offers much more insight.
What insight does Alex Scott have that Graham Souness doesn't? Apart from him being completely unlikable of course.
What insight does she have that he doesn't apart from him being unlikeable? That's a very confusing question but think I get your point. To me it seems you are confusing insight with direct experience. And although direct experience may aid insight it isn't always necessary. And she has played football, albeit at a lower level. I can't be bothered trawling through previous examples of punditry, but in general I think she highlights things which I didn't necessarily spot during the game. Whereas Souness doesn't.
