These players could become the backbone of the team. Pinnock Lindsay Dougal McGeehan Woodrow Green Moore The others might surprise me eg Brown, Mowatt etc. But there’s only these 7 that I believe have the strength and speed to definitely be Championship level players. Then again - I, and most others, underestimated the players from the last promotion.
Reading the title and the OP I was pretty sure this would be Nudger trying to bait other posters. Then I saw that he has Green over Mowatt. I’m out.
Jury is still out on all of them for me. I know the party line is that Hecky and Morais were completely to blame but these players must shoulder some of the responsibility for the diabolical performances in 2018. Can any one player really claim to be of proven Championship quality?
A good topic for debate, let down by your omission of Mowatt, who it could be argued, was our POTY last season. First name on the team sheet. Leaving him out is beyond bizarre.
Add a good goalkeeper to those 7 and there’s a good strong trunk of a team that the sparkling baubles can be hung on.
I believe he’s a yard off the pace. Although he has good ball skills and the effort is there - he just doesn’t seem quick enough. I hope lm wrong.
You are wrong. He was everywhere last season; he sometimes made it look like we had an extra man. Does he need to have pace in the position he plays? No.
Based on the fact that Stendel never picked him. Looks lightweight and doubt he will make much of a first team player. Of course I look fully forward to the how wrong was i posts next season.
Put the ball 10m from them and from a standing start Silva would be balancing the ball on the end of his nose by the time Mowatt got there. Don’t get me wrong- I like Mowatt. But the jury is still out with regards to his ability to survive in the Championship.
Strange thing is mowatt has played over 100 games in the championship for Leeds and has won young player of the year award in his first season followed by fans player of the year and players player of the year awards the following. If anything he's the only player who is actually proven at that level.
Think Callum Styles could adapt in the championship if and when selected. More so than Green. Hope they both perform though, as with any other player in the squad. Know nowt about Miller to have an opinion at mo.
Of the players we have based on past performance I’d only have Pinnock and Lindsay as definitely good enough. Woodrow and Brown clearly have the potential to be. Mowatt looked slow and sluggish last time in the Championship but a changed player last year so we will have to see on that one. As for the rest they all have the opportunity to step up and should be allowed time to adjust but I’m not overly confident they can.
All opinions could be conceivably deemed as bizarre if one doesn't agree or see the logic. The OP will I suspect have reason/s for excluding said player from list. Personally, I think Mowatt did fairly well but lacked consistency and pace so for me the jury is out.
