At least we know where we stand now both Lindsay and Davies have been confirmed. I suspect the club have known for a while though?

So we definitely do need to sign another CB as cover for Pinnock and Anderson now that it’s confirmed.

All the best to you, Liam. Can't blame anyone for taking an opportunity when it arises. Thanks for your part in the excellent promotion season!

Stoke City's website obviously didn't get the message about the supposedly undisclosed fee.

    https://www.stokecityfc.com/news/five-check-in

Davies, Powell, Gregory and Cousins were all available after their contracts with their former clubs expired, while the Potters have paid Barnsley an initial fee of £2million for Lindsay (pictured) which could rise to £2.5million.

They're quite open about the fee paid. I was hoping for more, but with only a year remaining, it's probably realistic.

Funny how Stoke aren't as shy as us in bringing up the fee. I can't knock him he's just done to us what he did to Partick. He seems to have made it known early that he wanted to leave, so we should be thankful he didn't just spring it on us at late notice.

I'd be much more concerned if we were losing Pinnock - lets hope he stays now, otherwise it could be a long old season. Not unhappy with our new keeper - think he'll be good, don't know anything about the new CH - Lindsay was adequate, but not amazing, so hopefully he'll be as good if not better than Liam.

Poor fee. If Pinnock leaves as an ITK poster claimed is nailed on, it will be a disaster. Not so sure Stoke will thrive next year as per this.

I had a niggling feeling we might lose the whole of the regular defence in the close season. Either for trying to sign better, or that players would try and run final years of contracts down and force the clubs arm to sell.

I've never really warmed to Liam. But he's had some solid games and made some good challenges. I've always been nervous with him on the ball and if faced one on one and he always seems to want to grab at players.

If that allows us to invest and get an even better player, great. If Pinnock leaves though and we have to create a whole new defensive partnership from scratch, I'm not sure we'll get off to the solid start we will most likely need.

Conway says that if you're in the last year of your contract and won't re-sign, off you go.

    Over to you, Ethan.

    *gulp*

I really, really like him. Good model, no nonsense pro.
I would rate him as a consistent 7 out of 10 player, which I think about sums up Stoke's style of play. So I think he will slot in nicely there.
Will miss him though, and hope his departure doesn't stop Pinnock flourishing as we seem to have built foundations on central defensive duos in recent years.

    Best of luck Liam.

It says that they have retained an interest in the player.

Good luck to them. Sad to lose them both, but can’t really fault them for going, with money in mind, although I’m not convinced it’ll turn out to be a great move for either of them.

As much as I rate Davies, if we were replacing Jack Butland with him I’d be very forked off.

I liked liam and think he's had a good spell here. Always seemed to me that he was the leader at the back, organising our defence.

As has been mentioned, I was hoping the fee would be higher but profit is profit I suppose.

It was needed before of course but now we really need Ethan to sign up.

Then let's hope Mads can step up into Lindsay's boots, the showcase earlier sure looked promising.

Bit too cheap for me that in today's market. But given our policy and his intent in leaving, I guess we were reliant on a bidding war so if that didn't occur then that may explain the lowish price
