Think Bobby Hassel could still do a decent job even at CB. Reserve judgement on others.:D:rolleyes:

See what you've done there, ask the question again at the beginning of August.

Do we know yet? Raised the issue that we had released our entire central defence and GK in July and were expecting to replace it all on the fly in the championship, now seeing the results of this huge error of judgement.

    Halme.
Diaby is all power and little skill
    Anderson is indecisive
Sibbick is a midfielder playing in defence imo

-Diaby has an error in him at least once a game
-Andersen looks like he needs a good Few Sunday dinners in him before he can be an imposing centre back in England
-Halme looks like he’s either got confidence issues or communication issues

Id say Diaby but none are sparkling so far.

Seems to be a different one every week. One week it's Andersen until he makes a catastrophic error (or two in the same match as happened vs Derby), then it's Diaby until he scores an OG, then it's Halme until he gets outpaced despite being 5 yards ahead of the attacker...

If I had to pick two center backs to start a game it would be diaby and halme if all 3 were fit. Or better still I'd pick pinnock and lindsay given the chance

I'm going to stick my neck out and say Halme, he's very raw but I think he's gradually got better each time he's played (didn't see Preston away tbf).

There is something about him that reminds me of a young and raw Carl Tiler when he first broke into our team around 1989. Tiler was occasionally casual and made the odd error, but he had the benefit of playing alongside Paul Futcher for a while, and also Mark Smith, and I think the point is then more obvious. Tiler became an excellent defender, not a great footballer.

Halme, along with Andersson and Diaby, are having to learn from their errors rather than have a guiding hand from a good senior pro, and even allowing for the differences in the game over the last 30 years, the effect is clear.

Tasked with marking an opponent and winning the ball played up to him Halme has been very good. Against any sort of pace, not so.
Diaby is strong and fast but very indisciplined. He chases the ball and leaves the centre unguarded.
Andersen is playing at a level he's not used to and it's showing.
All three would benefit tremendously from an older head alongside them talking them through games. As any young centre half would. As anyone in any career would. Everyone knows this. Our owners knew it, they just didn't care.

He’s to say at this stage given how poor we have been.

Diaby not 100 percent match fit.

All our centre backs have different qualities.

    I'd say Anderson

I would say they have all been equally poor so far. We should know more in 2 transfer windows time when we see which one we have managed to sell.

Regarding Diaby Jay. He's having to leave his position because Cavare labour's to get back in position and on lots occasions saves his arse.
