Not had a season ticket since 99-2000 when my daughter was born, considered the Pride membership scheme this year ( ya buy six ya get one free !) but toying wi idea of just going for it and getting a season ticket again. How many of you have committed/ would do on the strength of recent transfers ??
Based on the transfers alone it’s hard to know whether to commit or not. However 3 years ago I was in a similar position as yourself in terms of not having a season ticket for a good few years after having my daughter. However I decided to take the plunge and can honestly say I don’t regret it. Football wise we have been up and down during the past few years but I have loved committing and going to most of the games again . Pub beforehand with the mates and all that... Just thought you might be interested in that kind of perspective. Also for what’s its worth I think we will be in for an entertaining season.
The minute my young un would come with me (or be left alone) I got one again and will carry on every season for the foreseeable. I'm so excited for this season, I'm hoping were going to be right near the top of the table for enthusiasm and commitment and that's the main thing. And we've got my 2nd favourite manager ever to deliver some more memorable moments for the reds.
Supporting Barnsley for 42 years and had a season ticket for 22 years now - got one in early bird sale as usual which is obviously before transfer window... Gutted we've lost the players we have especially Pinnock but we're used to that now at Barnsley unfortunately. Like to think Stendel will get the players going whoever they are... Be a real roller-coaster ride
It’s great value for money and gives you something to moan about every other week. Plus you can be considered a proper fan as opposed to the part timers who rock up now and again We always flog players, usually for way less than we think they are worth. Another thing to grumble about, but still keep going like a loon.
Bloke behind me moaned about Lindsay all season.Cant wait to hear his player of choice being berated this season!
I didn’t try to rationalise it when I started again with the season ticket, because it’s not generally something you can justify rationally. The way I looked at it was, you’re a long time dead and I spend a lot of my time as a sensible adult with responsibility and this is one chance to spend a couple of hours on a Saturday not thinking about what happened at work or what’s happening next week, it’s a chance to live in the moment. Go for it I say!
I always wonder what fans do when they stop coming? Afternoons in Matalan or watching soccer Saturday perhaps - no thanks
Get one, good value and we need to swell the crowds. When you’ve bought it you’ll come - when you have the option to not bother and save the money you invariably do that. Get on board
I only missed 4 home games last season but it cost me £475 for the ones i went to, bought a season ticket this season £325, no brainer.
I quite liked the Man from Del Monte he had "belief". Under him we played our best football last season and went the last six games unbeaten at home and started scoring goals. Back on thread. I got my first season ticket in 2003/4 when we were taken over and I genuinely thought the club was on the upward curve. I would advise getting a season ticket for next season as I genuinely believe the club is on another upward curve at long last. The new signings have all been signed on decent length contracts. The players that left/ sold were brought in by the previous regime. I'm happy to get behind the new owners and Stendel has the team playing some attractive football.
I'm sure I won't, over the last 20 I've probably averaged a game a month due to family & work. Nice to get back to having some me time !
