Or the wages of the ones we have sold. Any player sold is entitled to be paid wages for remaining term of their contract. All that is unknowable.
It's a pittance in modern day terms though. Bring a friend, tell a mate you're worried about the clubs finances. Maybe those extra few people will convince the board to spend less money and safeguard the clubs future. Sit back and enjoy the ride.
Seems like Conway is not fckn about, we’ve not spent all the money from promotion and sales, but the long term contracts and calibre of the signings suggests a big commitment, more to come even!?!! Think there might be the striker from Germany.....
It is good that we are getting more players into the squad. It may cement the minds of players thinking do I go or do I stay, into staying.
Not necessarily sometimes or sometimes the player waives it but Pinnock for example is entitled to his wages from us until 2020 and from his new new employer. Nice Work if you can get it.
Really? I'm sure we won't he paying his wages that makes us barely any profit. And why would any club sell.a player if they still have to pay his wages but without the benefit of him playing?
For any player It’s interesting because if he instigated the move then I expect he’d waver the money. If he doesn’t want to go but we pie him off then fair enough.
Players normally accept a percentage or the buying club pay or its split. Depends on a lot of factors.
I'm sure the buying club will be paying in our sales. Might explain why the transfer fee wasnt quite as high as some thought it should be though.
That’s not entirely true. We don’t have to pay their wages. They will be subjected to solidarity payments but it’s a fraction of their salary that’s left. It would probably be c50k each for Lindsay, Pinnock considering their salary and length of contract left. It’ll be that or nothing and it depends on a) how good their agent was at the beginning of signing for us and b) if they forced a deal through. Based on the way this has happened I’d be more surprised if we’ve paid anything at all.
Yeah me too all unknowable and one of the main reasons I’m happy to be blissfully ignorant of the facts otherwise I’d probably be even more disillusioned. Though I know when O’Grady left someone paid his contract with us in full I suspect that was Brighton though.
Think with 4 years contracts covering two angles. A young squad to keep together with this close season a one off. Well top up in the future but think we’re aiming for mid table as Mr Conway said we’d go. A couple of seasons getting our bearings and possibly selling anyone who really hits the division but with contracts too dollar if sell. Then push into next level. Sheff Utd and Norwich also the season we went up shows sometime when the chemistry connects could surprise ourselves and throw plans out of the window!!! Got to say though if we stood still from last season we’d struggle but buzzing with last few days and promise of a couple of top earners as icing on the cake!!!
