As the team stands now, im optimistic that relegation will be out the question, not sure about playoff places but i reckon 8th-16, i would be happy with that
i see the logic in that. i think this board ACT on a possibility as opposed to reacting to a situation
In fairness, I am going into the season optimistic, but open minded. And this is not sour grapes, as I would have love to have kept Lindsay (whose name I always spell wrong) and Davies, but Stoke do not seem to be assembling a squad to challenge for top six. Their recent signings suggest that they will be happy with mid-table mediocrity. We have signed players that most of us have never heard of. They could be average at best and take us down, but they could prove to be top drawer signings and have us challenging at the top end of the table. I think it's the unknown that has got me seriously excited for the coming season.
I'm really excited for he new season, and I don't know why as barring Wilkes I don't think I've seen any of the new arrivals play. But I've got a really good feeling that we're going to see a few cult heroes emerge from this new bunch of recruits. I just hope they are more in the Hammil/Marcelle band of cult heroes than the Big f'in Jean mould...
I’m excited. But I also know 2CBs and Keeper all new to each other takes time to get an understanding. I also know all the new signings have to get used to the pace and quality of the Championship. I have faith, and hope it works, but I’m still taking it as next season is still about staying up, and building from there. Fair play to the board for getting these signings in though and being quite clever in that the fans never really had time to mourn Pinnock before new signings came in.
The impressive thing is that they've got these guys in really early and given Stendel every chance to get them bedded in before Fulham arrive.
