Hoping to build a purpose built new stadium just off Broadway 2500 capacity community stadium. The 1st purpose built complex of it's kind dedicated to women's football anywhere in the world.

The plans are on the chronicle website. Looks fantastic. Going to cost between 5-6 million.

    That's fair enough.

Although, I wonder if it would be mutually beneficial to just use Oakwell? I mean, we are always hearing that the club needs to find more ways to utilise the facilities outside the 23 match days per year that it is currently used for, and this could be an ideal fit...

All for this, think they may struggle for funding. Hope it comes off though.

First in UK according to that article. Looks good though although with all the facilitiesthey currently have based at Oakwell I can't really see a need for it.

Report says they're "aiming" to secure funding through private investors from the UK and overseas.

Ironic it’s on a site that had a perfectly good Community Sports facility, part funded by Sport England, which was bulldozed.

that does seem a bit daft. But if its being sourced by non public funds then that's ok with me. Hope it will used for the public too.

Got to say I hope they build it . Women's football has come a long way in the last 20 years and it makes you think where it will be in the next twenty . Barnsley ladies having their own ground should help them form their own identity away from the male team and hopefully see them flourish .

Looks quality. As anyone who’s had owt to do with girls football over the years will tell you, the numbers have rocketed which is great to see.
The quality of the boys football has improved considerably as well recently due to better coaching and facility standards. I’ve seen some cracking matches over the past few years involving my son and daughter.

Not only that but over the years as I’ve been either out and about, each time I’ve said Eyup to anyone I’ve had them inquiring “who’s that dad, how do you know them?”
Now it’s the other way round
