    Do other fans childishly graffiti players’ Wikipedia pages when they’re linked? It makes it so frustrating looking at their footballing history to find that yes, this one also har har har started at athersley Rec.

    There is enough evidence to say that this is true as a rumour. It seems clear that we really do want him, presumably on the basis of his stats. He really didn't pull up any trees at Coventry and didn't always make the starting eleven. Perhaps he didn't want to go to Coventry and never gave his all for the team, wanted always to come to us and still does. If the board and coaching staff think he is what we need and that they can develop him further, that will do for me. I look forward to tomorrow's (or this evening's news). I still think that we could do with one more striker, though, and are probably still looking.

    Sometimes players just click at certain clubs, not saying hes gonna be a worldbeater but id put my faith in Stendel getting the best from him. If he'd scored 25 last season for Cov, he'd be up at 5m and wouldnt be coming to us.

    we buggered about with Freddie and decided to see how he was in the world cup.... he had a stormer and Arsenal jumped in.... not the first time Arsenal have shafted us.

    We didn’t. We had agreed a few with his club, the player wanted to wait a few days until the national game had taken place and would then come and sign for us. He had a stormer and this is where arsenal came in very quickly and paid 4 times the fee we had agreed

    I've never heard anyone connected to Barnsley football club actually state categorically the Freddie Lungberg was close to signing, I can remember a headline in the Chronicle years ago saying Clive Allen was an imminent signing only for it to be proven sometime later it was rumour taken as fact.
