Facebook is a good shout. There's often decent stuff on there that people give away for free or close to. In the past couple of weeks, I've put a bedside table that was decent quality and condition for free just to get rid of it quickly. My wife put on my daughter's drawers come baby change station and wardrobe for like 40 quid. It must have cost us 600-700 quid only 4-5 years ago and I still in good condition. Similar when we got rid of our old leather 3 piece suite. Some good bargains to be had I reckon.
They've got some cheap ex display bathroom furniture (storage) at Fresco Bathrooms on Queens Rd near the ground if that helps
Barnsley Hospice furniture shop on Blucher St. (Behind the main post office in town) . Always have cracking stock and they deliver for a flat fee of £20 anywhere in the Barnsley borough.
Go on Instagram - cosyhome20182018 - they sell some really good modern stuff, at a fraction on the cost. It's new, and either factory seconds or customer returns. We got a bargain from there.
S26 Sales, swaps and services is a group on FB for stuff in that area. https://www.facebook.com/groups/160...=group_mall_header_nav&availability=available
http://refurnish.co.uk/index.htm Doncaster based but have a shop in wath too. Most of the stuff is new/clearence/seconds etc but great quality.
Charity shops are the way to go. The furniture they sell these days as never been so good. People want shut of it and ring them to get rid for free so they don't have to pay the council or deal with it themselves.
Charities and hospices are a great shout and the local forum. In terms of things from ikea, some of the stuff is super cheap and very solid and will last you for years. I've had a set of shelves I've had for nearly 20 years now and its still in good nick and the shelves without bend. You can get a little LACK coffee table for about £6 and some of the floor lamps are equally as cheap. I'd say make a list of what you want though, easy to start picking up loads of things and start picking up nice to haves rather than just must haves.
Hi pal. Congratulations first of all, we moved into our 2nd in March and I know how hard it can be. The guy who owned the house before us left a few things, weve just put them in the garage. Cant quite remember what's there but I'll have a look and if any of it is any good then you can have them. I've got a van too so I could fetch them through if need be. Good luck with everything.
Thanks a lot. unfortunately the move now fallen through as the sellers have decided to stay put so back to square one again now which is a real shame.
That sucks. I’m going through say a cliche now that peed me off every time someone said it to me (we had 3 fall through) but ended up being true... You’ll end up finding somewhere better and being pleased in the long run. Each time, I thought we’d got our ‘better one’ but this is better than them all.
we have some really good finds in the British heart foundation an the Red Cross shops... we have a branch of both down here which are huge on the floor space so have plenty of stock. Their delivery charge, if needed, is quite low... also they will haggle.
Just a huge kick in teeth was the first one we truly liked so was crap to be knocked back. Will keep looking but the areas we like are expensive and its proving hard to find any at the moment
