I'm on the hunt for a new TV and I'm looking at something around 50" Anyone got any recommendations? What to look out for, or what to avoid? Have seen the Philips 50PUS6703 which looks pretty good but open to suggestions Cheers!
While we're about it, is a sound bar essential these days? I've never seen one in use. Or does the normal sound on a telly still cut the mustard for most users?
I have a 49in Samsung curved 4k tv... it's a few years old now but the quality and sound is brilliant. I'm sure they will have updated the model since so won't dig out the model number for you
Just had a quick read, does sound like a cracking TV. Got a feeling this was on sale during the Amazon Prime Day deals and I didn't have a chance to fully research anything so just left it, but that model does look tempting
I think LG are the best high/mid range but Hisense give you more features for your money. I have 2 LGs and I certainly haven't regreted my choice (so far).
My Toshiba is ten years old. It's a miserable 32" (although size isn't everything!) Would I notice a big difference in sound in an equivalent model these days? I don't play music at very high volumes normally, and I don't watch action films.
Difficult to answer. I would think yes, but your best bet would be a trip to Currys to hear for yourself.
I would say so. I had a Samsung HD tv about 10 years ago and it was very tinny, the new ones are much better. My folks had a sound bar but recently bought a new tv and have done away with it.
really? i would say the opposite. tv's are getting thinner and thinner. especially with OLED panels. speakers are the things that get sacrificed, on the assumption that people will plug into a soundbar.
I've just bought a 50" Panasonic from Argos. Decent looking telly for £350. Only thing I'm not happy with is the Sky remote doesn't work the sound. On our old Toshiba the Sky remote worked the sound as well. Just means faffing about with two remotes instead of one when I'm muting the horse racing commentary.
