Thomas: "I strive off competition." Interviews Speaking following the Reds’ 3-2 pre-season friendly victory over DSC Arminia Bielefeld, Luke Thomas says he was delighted to get amongst the goals for his new club. Continue reading on the official site...
Anyone spot the elephant that’s not quite in the room?? “The front four has got some quality players. Conor has been brought in, and Cauley [Woodrow] and Mallik [Wilks] are both top players as well, but the link up was good and we all worked well with each other. It’s something that we’ve worked on in training and in order to create opportunities for us all.” There is plenty of versatility within the Reds’ attacking personnel, with numerous players capable of playing anywhere along the frontline and interchanging positions during the game. In addition to Jacob Brown, Jordan Green and Mamadou Thiam, who were at Oakwell during Barnsley’s Sky Bet League One promotion winning campaign last term, Thomas has been joined by Chaplin, Wilks and George Miller to help bolster Daniel Stendel’s dynamic, offensive arsenal.
**** sake. The Media team aren't sloppy enough for that to be anything other than a subtle bit of 'expectation management' which heavily suggests we're going to lose Kieffer. The fee had better be closer to £10million than it is sweet bugger all.
Grammatically, I would have said "Strive for" or: "Thrive off" I'm not sure "Strive off" is correct, therefore he is on my watchlist.
I think losing him will decide our season. No one we have or are linked with thus far have the attributes he brings. Don’t see the relevance of if it’s £1m or £10m it won’t be reinvested fully anyway. I strongly suspect it’s been lined up a while but the club is taking the PR move of delaying the finalisation so it’s not too soon after Davies Lindsay and pinnock so that those of us that see what they’re doing and complain are seen as hysterical.
I think if Moore was to be sold. They would announce his replacement straight afterwards like they have done previously with Davies, Pinnock and Lindsay.
I fear you may be right and agree that Moore is a rare player. I've despaired reading comments on here about how he doesn't fit in to our style and isn't good enough for the Championship. He scored more than Woodrow in fewer games last season and we missed him for weeks when injured until we adapted to play without him.
Is that a fact or your assumption? I'm disappointed we've spent that on what we've brought in if it's the former and would question how you arrive at that figure if it's the latter.
Give over. On what? Chaplin - a million Luke Thomas - 700 Malik Wilks - dunno Halme - dunno Radlinger - free Bähre - 140k Collins - free Anderson - 900k Diaby - dunno Sibbick - dunno So from my precise mathematics we spent close to 7 million on Wilks, Halme Diaby and sibbick? Nah
