Wouldn't suggest doing that when we play Leeds.

I presume in order to get to Oakwell from tarn centre you have to walk down Eldon Street NORTH and turn right into Swabish Gmund Way and then onto Pontefract Road. After match the other way round.

No but that's a sunday anyway isn't it? So doubt trains would be a good option. For most games it should be fine though.

I would have posted that had you not. Eldon Street and Eldon Street North are different roads.

For those that catch buses that go down Pontefract Road, it might be worth a bus stop opposite the railway station entrance on Schwäbisch Gmünd Way ... not that the club have much sway on this.

    So...

    Leeds at home. Carnage.
    Wendy at home. Carnage.
    Stoke at home. Carnage.
    Huddersfield at home. Carnage.
    Forest at home. Carnage
    Derby at home. Carnage
    Hull at home. Carnage

Then last time we had Fulham at home, they had loads of ale’d up dickheads. That’ll be a laugh.

    Middlesbrough, can’t wait.
Brizzle, too much cider. Be tasty.

    Wigan, Birmingham...

    All potential for trouble.

Wouldn’t it be lovely if there wasn’t? I know, it sounds silly, but I’m a crazy leftie and I don’t understand why there’d be trouble. It’s two groups of people attending a football match heading into town. It’s not the Gaza Strip.

Yeah, it's football, not a fully fledged border war.

Over 30 years of watching them at home and away and never had a punch thrown at me.

    It's not difficult to achieve.

I understand why there’d be trouble in these situations with rivalries, alcohol and piss taking involved. Some people can’t handle any combination of the three and choose to lash out irrationally.

I am 100% against it though and would hope we can walk down the same path without it escalating into violence.

Sadly the reality is not so.

I just don’t get it, sorry.

Someone burgled your home, robbed you, someone maybe assaulted you or yours, things like that I can understand might well cause you to do something in retaliation, act irrationally, as you say.

But walking close to fans who support a different club? Because you’ve had a few shandies, maybe your team lost, you’d need to cause aggro, get violent or whatever?

    It’s fcccukn sad is that.

Very sad, but it's a fact that it happens up and down the country every week. We are told this is why the club accept the police advice to move games. So its not a stretch to think the bottleneck this will cause down by the train station could be a problem.

Anything that involves close proximity to Leeds, Wendy or stoke fans tends to go downhill quickly.. especially when there’s several thousand of them.

Last time we played Hull they improved the corner pin and wanted to fight anything that moved. Been same the last few times they’ve ventured this way.

It’s quite apparent there will be flash points for a fair number of home games.

If we were in L1 there wouldn’t be a bottle neck as there wouldn’t be the numbers to cause it. Next season, best part of six/seven thousand minimum.

Whoever’s planned this has had a right Weston-super-mare.

I’m going to have to finish my pint that bit earlier now with that diversion, and to make things worse on the way to the ground listen to Wednesday and Leeds fans sing about how they’re European champions or some fantasy ***** like that.

Well let us hope the plans in place negate the issue.

Yep I guess those drawing these plans up at the council would rather we had not gone up.

I'm with you, fighting over football is pathetic.
