Doesn’t quite look right to me. If you said £3m for Moore, £3m for Woodrow, £3m for Mowatt and £3m for McGheehan, that’s £12m straight away without considering the rest of the team. I don’t think anyone would argue about the figures above, especially when 3 of the 4 mentioned have recently renewed their contracts.....
Nobody would pay £3million for Cam McGeehan right now - if he has a good first half of the season he could be worth that in January. As is said above though I think it is based on what was paid as opposed to current value.
I think they would. New contract just signed, young and proven at L1. His stock is high, and £3m is more than reasonable for him.
It’s so strange isn’t it. When I speak to fans of other clubs they don’t seem to struggle so much to follow the current market. I think it’s the right Yorkshireman belief of what prices SHOULD be, but the sad fact is they aren’t. As you say £3m in the championship these days is small change for a young and promising player.
So Saturday's Opponents' Squad is worth just short of 20 times the value of ours then! Should we even bother turning up I ask myself?
Ridiculous. We should use the Clubs valuation of the squad. That will be £6.32 and some nice railings.
In the face of overwhelming evidence that everyone else rates Barnsley players at less money than Barnsley fans, the Barnsley fans say everyone else is wrong. *tongue somewhat in cheek*
