You had to mention Morais didn’t you ?
He didn’t have the Barnsley attitude that is for sure
I can forgive the board for that as Moraise might be good for a different European league but definitely not ours.
And as outsiders fair dos but the longer in charge the more we demand in understanding .

And for the 53 years before that. We have been a "selling club" since the day we started paying players. I can't see that changing unless we can fill Oakwell every week. Even then It is unlikely that we will change much. The quality of player and thus the price we charge may increase. There are plenty of examples in the Premier League: Southampton for one. Leicester have just gone down the same route. You could argue that even Tottenham are a selling club.

In Connor's case not just money but going to a bigger club with more of a chance at reaching the top flight Personally I have more respect for this than just chasing the money but any pjayer that has done his best in a Barnsley shirt's alright by me.

With regard to Wigan I'm actually more disappointed that they got jo Williams and we didn't go for him than them getting moore for 4 million . If moore had gone for 1.5 to 2 million I'd have been disappointed. But 4 million?come on.

We must replace immediately though as we a woodrwow injury off an emergency now

Maybe success for our board is not the same as what the fans hope for.

If the objective is to establish a player trading platform then league position is not the definition of success.

Ironic that as fans a lot of chat is about the profit ‘we’ve’ made from Moore’s sale. Only if all proceeds are reinvested and nothing goes out of the club will the fans see any benefit.

Maybe I’m a miserable git but the situation at Nice did not play out well and I do worry about the club I’ve spent over forty years following.

There are examples of clubs selling players so here's a quiz for ya all...
name a club this season that sold 4 of its main 11 from last year...this to include 3 of the main back 5......PS
    except barnsley fc...
lve bin around a long time like a lot if you and suffered the endless parade if talent going out the door....bt these days im startin to question what the point is? where are we going...the owners arnt makin millions from BFC and a lot of us now secretly fear its back to Div 3 for us again.....thowt the plan was promised land bt that looks a million years away just as we get into position to have a crack at it as we wer a couple of years ago......really confused .

I feel there's something potentially very fishy about the timing of this Moore transfer and the messages coming out of the club relating to speculation.

I don't for one minute believe that Stendel doesn't rate the guy and his lack of football in pre season must be because Daniel knew he was going. Plus the radio silence over why he wasn't in France was suggestive.

So have the owners held out to the last minute to allow him to go as a PR move? It wouldn't be good for season ticket sales if we'd sold our top scorer as well as two star centre halves early in the summer.

Just a theory and I hope I'm wrong as that surely pisses the players off, throws Tongey under the bus and treats the fanbase with utter disrespect.

All of the above.. plus when the new young players come in they always mention how many of the former players have moved on to better things.
So from day one, to move on is on their mind.... Id even say to get them here in first place... That is one of our main selling points. Let's face it it won't be the money.
    Don't think we're a feeder club yet..
But we're definitely a stepping stone club.. like it or not..

Moore would be useful to us in the Championship but won't score that many, because in my opinion his profligacy will be highlighted, and then he would have 1 year left on his contract, he would refuse to sign an extension, be a year older at 28 and we'd probably be lucky to get 1 million for him. I guess if you cash in and take a £3 million punt on a 21 year old striker he might be worth 3 times that in a year's time, but it is a punt...whereas Moore's value won't increase imho ; this is his last pay day. I think this is the highest value Moore will ever have so *if* we have a good replacement ready then I have no problem with him going.

I’m not sure that filling Oakwell every week is the answer to be honest. We are now selling our better players to clubs that average lower attendances than us (Brentford, Wigan). I’m honestly confused as to why the new owners have taken an interest. I fully understood when it was relatively small-scale Barnsley businessmen.
